Best 4-5 drop Creatures/Plainswalkers in a mill deck?

I am trying to work on a mill deck, Bu Control/Mill , and I feel like there are really 4 cards to be considered but there could be more possibly?

The ones I am trying to consider are

Jace, Memory Adept ,

Consuming Aberration ,

Nemesis of Reason ,

Lazav, Dimir Mastermind ,

They all have there benifits. As you can see I am liking Jace, Memory Adept the most but I dont really know which one would provide what I want more often. I was also thinking of putting in 2 of Jace, Memory Adept and 2 of Nemesis of Reason . What Do you all think?

The only 4-5 CMC plainswalker worth any damn is Graceful Antelope . He's not absolutely terrible. Righteous Avengers is a little too small on his backside for me to want to spend five mana on. Just watch out for those pesky Great Wall s.

=p

In seriousness: Nemesis of Reason is nice and all, but he's a little at cross purposes with himself: his tremendously-sized butt means he wants to block for you, but his ability is an attack trigger; and as a mill deck you don't really want to be going after their life much. I ended up cutting him out of my casual UB mill deck.

Consuming Aberration , for the same mana cost, is an absolutely terrifying to most opponents, especially if you've already milled them some. If you play multiplayer games he's even more ridiculous. He can sit back and mill them out if you just want him as a blocker, and if it's late game and you have an opponent you haven't milled much, the Aberration might even be big enough to be a faster clock than trying to start milling them.

Yeah I am using the Deck for competitive FNM Modern tournaments. I do get what you are saying for Nemesis of Reason , and so do you feel Consuming Aberration is more stronger/fearful (I always have liked fear cards to make my opponents forget what they are doing) then Jace, Memory Adept for that spot?

I have been looking into a modern mill deck lately. Doesn't the synergy between Nemesis of Reason and Consuming Aberration make them worth while when played together. Each time you attack with nemesis your aberration gets +10/10 making him a better blocker after 1 swing with nemesis than nemesis was to begin with.

Also if you're running the aberration, you've got to run Essence Harvest or Rite of Consumption or something else to throw him at your opponent when milling just isn't cutting it.

You could also use Trepanation Blade with Consuming Aberration for more fun

Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker seems reasonable.
