What are some of the best cards in modern, in your opinion

Tarmogoyf . Decks splash for just this card in lots of decks because it's a huge, undercosted beater that only has one G in it's mana cost.

I full heartedly believe, and TitansFTW will agree, Storm Crow is truly the best card in Modern.

Storm Crow is so OP!!! It's insane! I like to play Overkill decks ,but Storm Crow is just too much. I don't want to lose all my friends so I don't use it sadly. Other than that I really like Surgical Extraction (yes, I play modern mill). With Phyrexian mana it's great for any deck. They cast a card you don't like you can counter then, Surgical Extraction it. Lots also say Dark Confidant too though.

Well Cryptic Command is very good, as well as Batterskull which is a game finisher.
Birthing Pod is a fun card if you enjoy that sort of thing, and is usually a strong combo trick.

I put my vote towards either Lightning Bolt or Dark Confidant .

Most pros consider Lightning Bolt to be the best card in modern.

Storm Crow and Battle of Wits are clearly the two strongest cards in the game, regardless of format. However, a distant second would probably be either Snapcaster Mage or Lightning Bolt .

Battle of Wits wins you the game just for having cards in your deck. Easily the best card ever printed. Should be in the Terrible 10.

I'm in vote for Path to Exile
and Lightning Bolt
since nearly all decks of those color run them. if you play red bolt is 4 of auto include if white then path with very little exception.

Vampire Army There's a deck that doesn't run one of those colors? Pretty much every deck has red and/or white for Path and/or Bolt

Guys how do you put the amount of a card you want to put in a deck? I know you have to put the card name in brackets but how do you put the amount.
May 3, 2014 7:48 p.m.
In a deck you are able to edit just put 4x path to exile. That is if you want four of them. If you are suggesting something as a comment say something like +4x Legion Loyalist or something of the like.

To make a deck, go to the "deck builder" tab. Click "add mtg deck." In the decklist box you can just type 4 CARDNAME to put 4 in, 3 CARDNAME for 3, etc.

Dark Confidant is black's best card, followed by Thoughtseize . Tarmogoyf and Birthing Pod are the best in green. Snapcaster Mage /Cryptic Command /Remand /Mana Leak /Gifts Ungiven are the best in blue. White has Path to Exile and (arguable) Thalia, Guardian of Thraben . The best red card is definitely Lightning Bolt , probably followed by Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker or Splinter Twin .

@NotSoLuckyLydia: White also has almost every good hate card ever printed.
Liliana of the Veil for black as well. And Storm Crow for blue.

I totally forgot about Liliana of the Veil . Which is weird. I love that card. And yeah, I know they do, I think that Thalia is just the best of the hate cards. Restoration Angel is another sweet white card.

If you look at cards in a vacuum i'd have to say it is either Lightning Bolt , or Remand
