B/G obliterock?

I wanted to play this deck a long time ago, because well... Phyrexian Obliterator but haven't seen much of anything about it as of late, most b/g discussion forums lead to abzan or jund. has it just been forgotten about? or is it just seriously outclassed these days?

In this meta, it's sadly not great. This meta is very aggro, so obliterator is too slow and too low-impact on the decks that you'll see more often. Junk and Jund have better removal and better anti-aggro to stay good in this meta.

B/G has no 1 mana removal spell (bolt or path) and as toolmaster stated, in this aggro heavy meta that's just not sustainable.

DuTogira you're still here! Good to hear from you again.

If the format slows down, then obliterator could be viable again. It does very well against grindy decks, so in a grindy meta where turn 1 discard into turn 2 abrupt decay is sufficient to slow most aggro decks and much of the rest of the meta is bgx and other midrange, you should be good to play it. It's very likely the format will slow down again eventually, but impossible to say when.

honestly you could play it very well in deadguy ale. Deadguy ale can suport it and has 1 mana removal, as well as lingering souls, pack rat, dark confidant, kalitas, brimaz and tons of other treasures and removal

I play Obliterator Rock and sadly all the above is true. It suffers from no 1 mana removal spell. It's outclassed by Lingering Souls and K-Command and Obliterator himself is often the decks weakest link.

I don't know if Ulcerate is good enough, but it exists too.
