Building for Ugin

A lot of people say that you can't get an Ugin out on T3 in a tron deck. I beg to differ.
T1 - Forest > Ancient Stirrings(if you need to get ugin)
T2 - Tron Land > Summer Bloom > More Tron Lands
T3 - Land > use ancient stirrings again if you still don't have an Ugin, but if you do, you have enough mana by now to cast Ugin/Karn
I think Ugin will be a 2 of in RG Tron. Thoughts?

This'll require you to get all 3 Tron lands in your hand, which is never a sure thing. Which is why Tron runs Expedition Map.

In U Tron: turn 1 tron piece.
Turn 2 tron piece, talisman of dominance.Turn three tron piece, Ugin.
I'm running two in my U-Tron deck. I think a lot of Tron players will at least try. And for good reason, no matter how I look at it the potential is there. Will it stay there? We'll play them for a while and see.

Just the forest and 4 Tron lands + Ancient Stirrings and Summer Bloom is 7 cards, so you have to have literally the perfect hand and Draw an Ugin, the Spirit Dragon or Karn Liberated. On top of that you have to have the tron lands completed and at least 1 Tower so you have access to 7 or 2 towers for 8. I wouldn't take the odds on that hand :P

Beyond that, T3 Karn practically wins the game (exiles opponent's lands). Ugin doesn't.

Summer Bloom is real bad in Tron. Don't play it.

I heard you could t1 emrakul? You need an opening hand of 8 cards though.

Both Karn and Ugin will be good, but the inability to get a turn 3 Ugin really dampers it. Ugin will essentially replace All Is Dust, some number of Oblivion Stone, or some Eldrazi, but its simply a new utility tool that can double as a win con. You still need the backbreaking turn 3 tron plays the deck is known for, which is why you'll still have the full amounts of Karn Liberated and Wurmcoil Engine.

not to hijack the thread, but whats the best way to bend over tron in terms of land disruption? blood moon? fulminator?

Blood Moon is best, but Sowing Salt will also make them hate life.

They all have their weaknesses. Blood Moon can be taken care of by Oblivion Stone or hardcast Karn Liberated, Fulminator Mage is slow enough that the deck has enough time to find its missing piece, and Sowing Salt comes down a turn too late without mana acceleration. The best thing you can do is make sure your hate isn't interrupting your current game plan and forcing them to deal with you and find their lands rather than having the time to deploy their threats.

*Sowing Salt CAN come down too late I mean. It misses the classic turn 3 Karn Liberated/Wurmcoil Engine, although you will shut down the rest of their decks engine.

I'm a big fan of blue tron and back up artifact acceleration over r/g tron in terms of casting Ugin.

Can you get him out on T2? You can get Karn out on T2.
