What is everyone's take on the match up? It seems kind of rare these days to find a D&T deck but I played against one the other day and lost. Just curious what other people's experiences are.

Depends on the dnt variant and how you tuned it versus burn. Thalia, Guardian of Thraben makes it a bit annoyinf for burn generally but as long as the burn player does send a Lightning Bolt at her it usually goes ok.

Now if were talking about the mono white versions it only gets really bad if they are playing variants with Restoration Angel as end curve and even more if they have Kitchen Finks mainboard as a beater of choice. Mono white also tends to have 2 or so Kor Firewalker sb. Other variants arent as good va burn other than eldrazi which has beefy boiz

I think I just got screwed both games from the sound of it. Game 1 he played a Thalia against my goblin guide and I had no bolt so I had to sacrifice a rift bolt the next turn to kill it. Then he had the leonin while I had 2 tapped mana and ghost quartered me and just won from there. Game 2 I had to mull down to 5.

It seems like with most Magic games it all depends on the draws of both decks. With a half decent hand D&T can easily beat burn with Thalia, Guardian of Thraben making all of your spells cost more as well as being able to counter your guides. Combined with the two card strip mine combo of Leonin Arbiter and Ghost Quarter , especially when you are only on two-three lands seems rough.

I think D&T has a decent matchup because most of their creatures either disrupt the burn players plan, or hit as hard as a bolt each turn by themselves (or both)

It’s possibly still favoured for burn to win, but taxes have lots of outs to even the game up
