Some Cards are Hidden Gems

This thread is devoted to the finding of said hidden gems for top decks, that could push them over the top.

Magus of the Bazaar could be a stupidly powerful dredge engine

Bloodhall Ooze can be fun in a budget Jund. If only we could find an Ooze Lord...

Probably has been mentioned elsewhere, but Timely Reinforcements seems like really strong sideboard tech against aggro for multiple archetypes, especially control variants and tokens.

Bloodhall Ooze saw play when DRS was a thing and Timely Reinforcements is pretty standard sideboard tech.

Bloodhall Ooze for sure...call it a come back or hidden gem....its a fun card.

Molten Vortex is something I am a fan of. Feels pretty decent through out different stages of the game.

If you like Molten Vortex, try Seismic Assault

Wouldnt Artificer's Intuition be good in the lantern control deck?

November 19, 2017 8:13 p.m.

My only need with seismic assault is the 3 red mana cost. Although it quickly pays for itself in all fairness.

Intuition would be interesting to test

WizardOfTheNorthernCoast I'm suddenly thinking of an Olivia theft deck. Hmm...

Skywatch Not really, cause it requires an extra colour and lets you swap your mill for...other mill.

However there is this.

Demigod of Revenge is crazy strong, but why splash for & ?
After all there is plenty of the same effects in ...
Burning Inquiry, Faithless Looting, Cathartic Reunion
It even has creatures that are pumped when you discard like Flameblade Adept.

(but demigod is insane mainly because it reanimates through counterspells, and because it has haste and evasion to get in)

Heres an example list

Adanto Vanguard + swords
Chromatic Lantern/Cascading Cataracts + Fist of Suns/Legacy Weapon seem to be broken, but no one even tries to use them.

P.s.: contrary to the popular netdecker belief, modern has a lot of hidden gems, since the cardpool is enormous, thus this list has the potential to go on for loooooooong.

LeaPlath here is an example list for Artificer's Intuition.

Ideas Unbound seems good in Storm. It's arcane so you can splice Desperate Ritual on to it and it helps you dig when you're looking for your final combo piece. When plan A is to cast Past in Flames and flashback everything in your graveyard, discarding 3 cards is almost upside. I think the only thing keeping it from seeing play is the cost.
