Collected Conjuring

Is a deck with this card viable?

SynergyBuild says... #2

I think? Storm lists could use it if they are willing to use Pieces of the Puzzle , Grapeshot , Serum Visions , Sleight of Hand , etc.

Additionally, Ancestral Vision and the others like it can be cast using it!

A note- This ONLY says sorcery, not instant.

Unplayable in modern, bulk rare. Need 30ish sorceries to get an average hit of 2

Card seems nuts with Restore Balance , Wheel of Fate , and Ancestral Vision . That also gives really good synergy with As Foretold and/or Brain in a Jar .

The trick is finding a win condition that's a sorcery with CMC < 4. Maybe burn spells like Blightning ? Token makers like Call of the Herd , Call of the Conclave , or Supply / Demand (which also tutors)? Mill might also be viable using Breaking / Entering and Glimpse the Unthinkable .

ArmouredDuck: you only need 20 to average 2 hits. keep in mind that Collected Conjuring can also let you cast suspend spells like Ancestral Vision or Crashing Footfalls .

sylvannos: Collected Conjuring wouldn't let you cast Supply / Demand , because its cmc is considered 5

is the suspend list. Unsure on how good a Grixis Mill list would be.

Can somebody explain the maths for the supposed 30ish sorceries to hit consistently? I would figure since it says 2 out of 6 is technically 1/3 of the deck so why wouldn’t 20 sorceries hit consistently?

SMASHER101 says... #14

I think he considers "consistent" to be more frequently than an average hit of 2 and that's why his math is different.

Darksteel_Eye: that is the correct math, yes.

SMASHER101: but he didn't use the word "consistent", he used the word "average".
