Here is The Ban Annoncment.

Wow... both expected bans and unexpected unbans.... Mox Opal/Faithless Looting are back? crazy!

I would be interested to here what people think about this and how that plan on moving forward into this initial new territory... currently I am excited about faithless looting for the boost to Hollow One but I think I am nervous for what other things are gonna come out of this announcment.

Splinter Twin unbanned in Modern, and The One Ring banned ? Don't let your memes be dreams.

I’m pretty happy with all of it - but would have preferred safer unbans to Looting & Opal. Both of those cards are only ever going to be used for degeneracy.

I’m happiest when the format is led by midrange strategies. I’m not convinced this announcement will deviate us in any direction other than more aggro & combo decks… but we’ll see.

In any case i’m super happy the Ring is finally gone!

I think the two big winners from this announcement are Amulet Titan and Mill.

Titan is already at/near the top of the meta, and Green-Suns gives it another tool to be more reliable/obnoxious. A LOT of cards are already on the banlist for Titans sins, so this feels super dicey.

With Faithless Lootings return, there’s likely going to be a lot more decks trying to do something nonsense with their graveyard, and mill runs mainboard Surgical Extraction to punish those plans. Looting also plays into strategies that encourage dumping swaths of your own deck into the graveyard, which is also just doing Mills job for it.

I am expecting to see Green Sun's Zenith eat a ban again. I honestly can't believe it was unbanned. Excited to see some of the decks that come about thanks to the unbanning. I think overall, it is a good change, but I am sort of expecting to see Green Sun's Zenith and Faithless Looting eat a ban again. I'll definitely be abusing Green Sun's Zenith while it is legal though.

Companion really isn't working out for anything. Yorion, Sky Nomad and Lurrus of the Dream-Den welcome Jegantha, the Wellspring to the land of the Modern lost.

Reanimator's gotten a lot of new toys since Faithless Looting got banned, especially in MH2. I'd like to see it float back up the ranks a little bit. I suppose it would be too much for another Golgari Grave-Troll unban? That worked really well last time, right? I'm sure it'll be fine. What's the worst that could happen? There's a lot of options for graveyard hate right now, especially that Surgical Extraction, and Rest in Peace and Leyline of the Void can still be viable when they're needed. Graveyard-omancy is so hard right now...

I'm interested to see Psychic Frog survive. Not super surprised, but I had it at an outside chance of being banned. It's very color-restricted, but it's been a good engine for several decks. I feel like it's right at the top line for Modern utility.

Honestly, I think that the only “fair” companions are Umori, the Collector and Lutri, the Spellchaser based off of how much worse it makes your deck. I’m expecting all companions banned except for these two eventually. Looting deserved an unban.
