deck ideas!

i want to play at my local modern fnm but don't have any cost effective modern deck ideas and i hate net decking. i was thinking some sort of aggro control with aetherling and ral zarek. im open to any ideas.thanks.

Aggro and control mix like oil and water unless you're going for a tribal Legacy build like Faeries or Fish.

You can build a pretty cheap affinity deck, but I don't know whether you would classify that as netdecking.

AEtherling and Ral Zarek are, to my knowledge, not very viable in Modern. Are you partial to the colors or what?

what type of affinity were you thinking? because i know there are like 3-5 variants that are popular.

Whichever you prefer. I know that the high-end builds include cards like Mox Opal , Arcbound Ravager , and Glimmervoid , but those aren't strictly necessary. You can build a pretty strong shell from:
Frogmite
Myr Enforcer
Cranial Plating
Darksteel Citadel
Signal Pest
Ornithopter
Memnite
Springleaf Drum

If you are not set on the colors, mono white allies have done well for me in modern. Very cheap to build and I can pretty much guarantee that you will not be seeing any other ally decks.

i like the ally deck it seems fun i also saw your graveblade deck, how has that been working? it looks cool

The graveblade deck is still having some of the kinks worked out of it, and as such has not had a ton of actual play testing aside from me casually piloting it and another deck against each other... which is far from in ideal way to test. But overall, it feels fairly strong and consistent; and I am sure it will get better as I grow more familiarized with it and fine tune it a bit more. I can update you as the deck develops further if you would like.

the ally deck is a lot of fun, though. The amount of life gain you can accumulate with even just a few allies out is insane and can quickly put you out of reach for many decks and the board presence and damage that can come from a few unblockable allies fueled by a kabira evangel catches a lot of people off guard.
