Does Glissa, the Traitor *oversized* have a place?

Pretty much just wondering if there is a viable place for her in modern. Being that she can block and kill just about anything it would seem to make sense as a 1-of in an Abzan or Golgari build.

Thoughts?

She's not played simply because there are better creatures than her. like goyf, bob, scooze, tasigur. their abilities just help the general strategy of the deck. drop efficient, large creatures and kill whatever they have. they want to hit the opponent in the face instead of leaving blockers behind. plus her ability isn't the greatest. not many artifacts are used in modern that get sac'd that would like to be recurred.

She's not terrible (at 3 CMC for 3/3 first strike and deathtouch), but you'd really have to build a pretty good rogue deck around her to make her any better than "not terrible," and I'm not sure that deck is really possible. Her ability is very conditional, she dies to Bolts, and pretty much every color other than BG have better artifact-based interactions.

I believe she could be a really niche sideboard card in some BGx decks. She deals with Tasigur, Bloom Titan, Tarmogoyf, and any other creature bigger than her very well. With enough support, I could see her being viable in modern.

Don't forget your Throwing Knife! Honestly, I think you'd probably run her with some of the Spellbombs, both of the black ones aren't the worst things to use repeatedly and lifespark turns lands into 3/3s for a turn.

As stated prior, her main issue is that there are better options that are less vulnerable and her ability is rarely relevant. 3/3 First Strike Deathtouch for 3 is great, but when it dies to Bolts, Abrubt Decay, and Path, that's something in every color but blue(counters) to stop her.

Removal aside, yes she has the clear advantage when it comes to blocking and attacking, but that's more of a stall than a threat because her ability is predictable. She can't attack in most matchups because she'd be more valuable as a blocker since most decks have beaters with higher power than her so they're perfectly fine to let you hit for 3 when they can return the favor with 4-5.

If I played elves I'd run her. Maybe I'll run her as a 1 of in my Rock deck and see what happens...

What about a myr tribal thing (is that a thing?)? Or if you had a few different swords so her second ability wasnt worthless? Elves could work, seems like a decent surprise Chord of Calling blocker. Pair her up with Golgari Keyrune, the best card in modern?

Maybe a SB card for creature beat down decks like zoo?

Or else it sounds like you'd have to build a deck around her, which doesn't sound good for a legendary creature.

Thanks for input!

There are at least a couple respectable Myr decks on T/O that people actually run. I think they're pretty awesome, but I like Janky nonsense. I don't know if that's the place to run her either, as I think they run Tron lands, so her casting cost is steep. Some kind of deathtouch deck with Keyrune might not be that crazy. And you still get Abrupt Decay. Her with Executioner's Capsule and maybe Necrogen Spellbomb and something like Grisly Salvage? Artifact dredge control??? Jund artifact dredge control with Slag Fiend?????

As an elves player; not thrilled with her. When you're going over the top her abilities are irrelevant, and I'd rather have something that doesn't cost to cast. I save that for sideboard cards and Shaman of the Pack, which straight-up wins games.
