Dragonlord Ojutai

So I am just curious if Dragonlord Ojutai would be a good finisher for delver decks that run white? Which decks is he best against and how exactly is he positioned in the modern meta?

Not really - he is vulnerable to a lot of hate (not bolt or decay, but that new Twin hate card from DTK I cannot remember).

Plus, you can usually only hit once with him at best - you will either be in a position of already winning after that one hit or he will get a hit in and die the following turn.

Geist of Saint Traft is the far superior option.

At 5 mana he's too slow for Delver, but I've heard he does work in tap-out control/midrangey lists. I've never played with him so I'm not really sure exactly how he is positioned in Modern at the moment.

I can see him in an America control deck as a solid finisher...

My assumption is that the meta will quickly clog with creature decks that run Collected Company which in turn will make control decks turn back to sweepers over counters and spot removal.

Delver usually runs like 19 lands or something. How do you propose to reach 5 mana?

In a 24 land deck though I could see him being played yeah.

Ojutai is great, but in midrange-control decks.

Ojutai doesn't fit in a Delver shell because it doesn't fit with what delver is trying to do. You are supposed to just play one or two small threats and then play a tempo game and kill them with all the value you generate. Anything that requires you to tap out for past turn 3 is asking for too much, unless you take it out of the sideboard

Ive been playing him in modern, he's pretty awesome when people can't kill him, he just wins. It like never happens though. lol.

Modern Azorius ControlMaybe board is cards I sideboard sometimes

You have the right idea for Dragonlord Ojutai as a finisher, just the wrong shell. Delver decks will never be able to cast him because they don't run enough lands. Azorius or Jeskai control/midrange, on the other hand, will be happy to have him.

Take a look at Adrian Sullivans list. Dragonlord is midrange/conteol. Delver doesn't wanna be past 2-3 mana tops.

What ChiefBell said.

I think it's a cool card though, just isn't as strong in modern as a lot of us wish it was.
