Where, if anywhere, would Dragonlord Ojutai be viable in Modern? Or is the cost just too prohibitive to consider using?

That just makes me so sad that I traded my Minamo, School at Water's Edge when it was like 6 dollars. Now it's at 17... Fml.

This comes up every once in a while now. Mostly, people agree that it's just a bit too unwieldy. It's got some heavy competition form Restoration Angel, which is still the go-to creature in U/W control and midrange variants. As long as the meta essentially demands these decks to run a full playset of Wall of Omens, resto's pretty nice. Ojutai has plenty of potential though. I wouldn't be surprised to see him find a home later on. Control's just not all that well positioned outside of the Grixis decks that are running around.
I'm also not a huge fan of Silumgar's Scorn since it necessitates that you run sub-optimal lands or a high-number of dragons. It's a card with high variance. Those don't tend to be good.

TheDevicer: I agree. Silumgar's Scorn is pretty much only good in a Dragons tribal EDH deck or standard control.

I won't try to find a home for it until it drops out of standard and in price.

There's an interesting Esper control list with Dragonlord Ojutai and Silumgar's Scorn running Nameless Inversion to increase the Dragon count. But his best home is in a super controlling list.

U/W control with Ojutai intrigues me. I may have to brew something up.

There is a UW deck or Esper making the round that uses Dragonlord Ojutai, Silumgar's Scorn, Minamo, School at Water's Edge then some of them use Mutavault, while others use Nameless Inversion to power up scorn.
