Empty the Pits in Grixis (or any other control deck with black)

So I'm working on a Grixis deck, and I decided that I like Empty the Pits as a win con.
I don't really see any major problems with using this. By late game, there is a decent chance a will have an Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth out, or just four straight black mana with TONS of cards in my graveyard and my opponent will have likely sideboarded out any creature removal or board wipes he may have had.
Can someone explain to me why this isn't being playtested in control decks that run black, specifically Grixis?
ChiefBell or Epochalyptic: I'm sorry if this belongs in deck help, I thought this thread could go either way.
I was testing this for a while but it's meh you can take a look at a build I was working on if you'd like the big problem is that if it gets countered or you lose your yard to any other means you instantly die.

Yeah. I mean the big problem is it, or at least my brew it was, lacks really any kind of interaction and leaves you vulnerable to disruption and really quick kills

Pyroclasm, or any counterspell. It's alright but it's not the best win con. I think Tasigur is the best delver out there right now.

I think that after game one, my opponent would likely sb out boards wipes like Pyroclasm against control, and most win cons can be countered.
I'm not saying it's viable, I'm saying I'm not sure those reasons are why it's not viable. I think dan8080 was right when he said that any grave hate kills it, and it is kind of expensive even with delve.

You're not really going to get more than 3 Zambies, so it's best just to play Tasigur.

It's ok. Keep it to a general discussion about empty the pits in a grixis shell in modern.
