Eternal Ruse in Modern

Modern forum

So I have been looking for a new deck to build for Modern and I happened across the Eternal Ruse deck. It seems like so much fun to play!

For those who don't know it uses Eternal Witness/ Snapcaster Mage in tandem with Familiar's Ruse to lock up the early game and then late game uses Cryptic Command to just fully control your opponent.

The deck also has splash capability which from what I have seen is mostly Red for Lightning Bolt, and a combination of Izzet Charm and Electrolyze. But I have also seen lists using Black for Dark Confidant, Abrupt Decay, and Maelstrom Pulse for extra card advantage and efficient removal.

So, I was wondering how viable this deck could be right now in the current meta and if the splash would be worth it? Im considering the Black splash over Red at the moment.

Also wondering why it seem to have effectively disappeared?

Familiar's Ruse just isn't worth it in the deck. It's not a very powerful card at all. Play Abrupt Decay instead.

I think the deck you are talking about is eternal command with familars Russ thrown in it. No its not viable right now, but if you try go all four color. I have a copy on my profile of you are interested. Ummm, no. (Vial Command).

Eternal Ruse Primer for tclaw12

JexInfinite well if I were to build it just Simic, I would probably split between the two

And sirbar thanks for the list, idk about for colors, but I will do some testing at least

You exile ruse from Snapcaster Mage before it goes back to your hand, that's why people like remanding snapcasters flash backed cards.
