Helm of the Gideons?

I was speculating with a friend how Helm of the Host and Gideon of the Trials would interact. Against what I thought would happen, you get a whole new planeswalker! With Gideon soon leaving the Standard format, I looked to modern and wondered if this would be a good finisher in Gideon Tribal? Thoughts?
Per the Gatherer:
The token copies exactly what was printed on the original creature and nothing else (unless that creature is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesnt copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras and Equipment attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, and so on.
By my understanding the token would enter as a Gideon Planeswalker.

MWorl91 is correct--Gideon's transformation is not an effect that gets copied, so the token will enter the battlefield as a non-legendary Gideon Planeswalker.
Now, do I think this would be a good finisher?
I am not sure. Extra Gideons sounds powerful, but you're paying an awful lot for that privilege. Four mana for a spell that does not instantly influence the board is pretty difficult to muster in modern, particularly in a White deck. Even then, you have to spend five mana to get the thing on a Gideon, burning another turn.
Ultimately, you've ended up spending two turns to get one additional planeswalker--not a great deal, even if it helps keep your emblem fueled.

I have to agree with cdkime...at 9 mana to cast and equip, I think you're better off just playing more threats, especially in Modern.
At 4 CMC to just cast Helm of the Host, I think I'd rather have a Kitchen Finks or another planeswalker.
Even if you want an equipment, Sword of Fire and Ice is going to do far more work than Helm of the Host.

The token will be a creature and that type cant change. So there will be a gideon crearure token that wont become a PW at anytime.
