So I have been up against a deck that has given me flash backs of the most dreadful deck I've played... Flash-hulk. It was yesterday, I went up to my magic venue and sat down and played with some buddies one of them had a new deck so, me being me I wanted to go against it asap, so It went normal t1 land pass, then I played a land on t2 and passed, then he played Angel's Grace and I was confused, so I waited and he played Pentad Prism exiled some Simian Spirit Guides and BAM Ad Nauseam I had no idea why and then I saw it...Lighting Storm it threw me off. I was hit for 20 in turn 2. Is this the new flash-hulk? I Know it's defeat able, like hello Condescend,Remand,Mana Leak,Meddling Mage has anyone else experienced this?

This isn't a version of Flash Hulk. Flash Hulk (for those who may not know) is a Legacy deck that uses Flash, Protean Hulk, Disciple of the Vault, and X-drop artifact creatures for massive damage. This is Modern Ad Nauseam, and it sounds like the typical decklist. It's generally a tier 2 strategy, but it seems like your opponent pretty much had a god hand to get 3 Simian Spirit Guides and cast Ad Nauseam turn 2.

I think there is something missing

Well, no, since that requires 2 lands that produce different colors, 3-4 SSG, 1 prism, 1 grace, 1 ad nauseum, an exact combination of 8-9 cards that is highly unlikely to occur.

Flash hulk requires to have the ability to cast a spell and have hulk in hand, which is much different than paying for 2 different cards (or cast Phyrexian Unlife).

So, no, you cannot compare it to hulk and there are much better combos with actual protection in modern right now.

It's not NEARLY that consistent or fast. What you saw is an incredibly unlikely God-hand. Besides, Hulk-flash could go off before it even took a turn with 4 cards needed in its opening hand. Ad Nauseum isn't near that power level.

Is the deck playable in modern or was my match just bs. Because I play tron "gifts" and this seems to be pretty cool, if I was playing it or world the twin and goyf meta eat it up?

It gets eaten alive in this meta game. It's fragile to counterspells and disruption, something this meta game is NOT short on.

@iLikeDirt what are the good combo decks in modern then? Because they're my favorite type!!

Currently, the only combo decks played in the meta are the ones that are redundant and/or can protect themselves:

Splinter Twin (there's like... 5 variants now...? UR all-in combo, UR Tempo, UWR, RUG, and Grixis is starting to pop up.), Scapeshift and Storm are kinda your best combo decks in modern.

Spaced Bloom Titan, thanks Boza. And I'm interested to see where Melira Company goes. I'm still not sold on it being a staying power in modern yet.

It's placed one time the Company deck. It plays as a kind of aggro deck with a fallback combo built in. It's not that bad - kind of like little kid junk just with a little extra spice. I expect to see it pop up but not be a game leader.

I agree with Boza - Twin, Scapeshift, and Bloom are your biggest options.

Check the Modern Format Primer - Banlist Update (19/1/2015) for a few more details.

Also, as has been said above Ad Nauseam, whilst a good deck, is super vulnerable to any meta that can interact.

I actually had great success running AdNaus last Modern season. It's much more reliable than you would think it is and I think it's relatively fine in this meta. Your sideboard usually has enough silver bullets to make your games 2 and 3 entirely winnable even if you lose game one.

It may function a lot like Living End then. People think it dies to counterspells but it doesn't. It also doesn't even die to graveyard exile.
