Pretty much any card that says "When ___ comes into play do something that you dont wan't to". Like sac a creature, or pay x life..stuff of that nature. I can't name any specific cards off the top of my head

Nope, Torpor Orb only affect triggered ability from AFTER it's a permanent on the field. So if you play a Champion of the Parish and a Gather the Townsfolk and your opponent would follow up with Torpor Orb . You still get to keep those 2 +1/+1 counter on your Champion. But if you played it after the Torpor Orb don't expect to see those popping.

ohh ok that makes sense, would Torpor Orb slow down a human deck that runs four Champion of the Parish ? Torpor Orb would be in my sideboard

It would eliminate the Champions as the huge issue, but you have to account for you not drawing your orb when you need to. Champion gets huge starting turn 2. I wouldn't count on it to slow that deck down. It can work, but it won't always work. What deck are you running?

You're approaching this incorrectly. It's not Champion of the Parish that kills you, it's the fact that they have a swarm of guys or that they curve out efficiently. Playing a 2 mana answer for 1 one mana card is not good sideboarding.

It will stop the triggers of Champion, yes, but it's not likely to help your matchup.
