How long before eldrazi aggro gets banned?

Modern forum

The modern meta is not healthy right now. You run eldrazi aggro, affinity, or you lose. In the past, WoTC has made it clear they want a variety of decks to potentially succeed. But eldrazi aggro is currently making up 20% of the meta, according to mtgtop8. This can't go on much longer.

Now I realize we are in hype city right now. Everyone wants to utilize the new cards. But if this keeps up, I'm confident something will be banned. The question is what card will it be?

Do you think something deserves the ban hammer? How long until this happens? Or Do you think the amount of eldrazi decks will decrease once hype dies down?

My guess is Eldrazi Temple. This new deck will still be playable, just not tier 1 anymore. Tron won't be crippled, and midrange strategies will have a chance to blossom again. No one who invested money into the deck would be losing out big time, and modern could even out a bit. Eldrazi Temple seems like the obvious choice for a ban to me. Being a midrange player myself, it would certainly make me happy.

So give me your thoughts and opinions on the subject. And as always, thank you for looking!

If it will be banned, it will be at the next banned and restricted update in April.

As for bans, I personally think that it will be either Eldrazi Temple, or both Eldrazi Temple and Eye of Ugin. Eldrazi Temple is the ban that weakens the Eldrazi deck without affecting other decks, but Wizards has shown a history of banning all offenders. So just like Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time, they might ban both.

Last thought to leave you with. Set mtgtop8 to look at the last two weeks rather than the last two months. Notice how Eldrazi changes.

Eww, so eldrazi aggro is actually 30% of the meta in the last 2 weeks. Even worse.

Please check the forums before starting a new thread. There are several other topics on the Eldrazi deck and its potential to be banned.

I apologize, didn't see that there. I am not even going to touch that thread though. There is so much misinformation and things I disagree with, I just can't.

Then it would be better to explain what the misconceptions are and educate people rather than starting probably the fifth or sixth thread on this topic.

Just an observation.

Your assertion about misinformation is confusing, and misleading to other readers. The most active recent thread, Eldrazi and the Hammer, is largely composed of educated and informed discussion.
