Hello guys, I've started to play with RtR and I've choosed Golgari guild but my deck after Theros has left T2 format. I've decided to make a Modern deck so 'cause I love these colours I wanna made a BG Rock deck. Can you explain the archetype and tip some version? Thank you all! :)
Yes, sorry for my english. I've made a self mill BG Deck with several Innistrad cards like Splinterfright or Gnaw to the bone etc. I would like to know how Rock works, expecially if there's some control version 'cause I wanna use my set of Deathrite Shaman. Thanks :)

Well, usually Rock is a form of midrange.
It uses hyper-efficient cards like Tarmogoyf
and Dark Confidant
to apply lasting pressure.
The plan is then to disrupt disrupt disrupt with lots of discard like Thoughtseize
and Inquisition of Kozilek
, solid removal like Abrupt Decay
and Maelstrom Pulse
and good all around 'walkers like Liliana of the Veil
.
Deathrite Shaman can play a role too as with all the discard and removal they're bound to have targets he can remove from their graveyard.

Thanks Mind! I can suppose that Rock is an expensive archetype...:( If I replace Tarmo with Skinshifter , Dark Confidant with Underworld Connections or Phyrexian Arena I made a bad deck? I've already Inquisition of Kozilek thanks to my gf and I love this card! :)

Skinshifter
isn't a replacement for Tarmogoyf
unfortunately. It's probably playable but you can't expect as much from it.
The reason Dark Confidant
is so much better is mainly because on top of it's ability Bob's also a 2/1. He can attack if you need him to.
Alternatively, deck-large:triffids is a great GB deck that costs WAY less to put together.

That being said...it's still not cheap. But that's competitive Magic for you.

Rock BG Budget Version This can be a good for fun deck?:)

Triffids is so nice but I prefer a deck with less interaction with grave cause my previous deck has similar mechanics and my friends have a lot of sb for that!:(

If you're interested in a BG deck in Modern and don't want to pay Goyf/Bob prices, you can do a Dredgevine kind of deck too. Lots of things that like to go to the graveyard and come back out, like Vengevine , Gravecrawler , and Bloodghast , along with Smallpox and you're pretty good.
It's not exactly cheap as it all but requires fetchlands (for the Bloodghast landfall triggers) and can use Liliana of the Veil very effectively, but it's a lot better than Goyfs and Bobs.

This is my modern rock A Pain in the Spine!. I have come in 1st place at fnm 3 weeks straight, no one has answers for it. Deathrite Shaman is utilized proficiently with the fetch lands, they are key. They allow a turn 2 LoTV, turn 3 Phyrexian Obliterator . I considered Dark Confidant but with the amount of 3 and 4 drops in the deck I decided it wasnt worth it. Tarmagoyf is just out of my price range, period. But it is certainly possible to build a rock deck without bobs and goyfs, the deck that made the name ''rock deck'' ran them, doesnt mean you have to.

History lesson time!
The original Rock deck didn't have either Tarmogoyf or Dark Confidant because those cards didn't exist yet. Instead, it was designed by Sol Malka and it abused a combo of Phyrexian Plaguelord and Deranged Hermit . Malka gave it the name "The Rock and His Millions" because the Plaguelord's pose reminded people of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and because the Hermit could make enough squirrels to be his "millions".
Yes, the Rock's millions were squirrels.

heres a link to my modern rock deck. BLΔCK (Gone Golgari)
and heres a link to my standard rock deck 50 #'s of Grade A Beef -Golgari- Standard
Some cards can serve as temporary replacements. ...for instance if u can't afford Liliana of the Veil then depending on what effect you want most from her u can +1 Necrogen Mists -2 Gatekeeper of Malakir or Geth's Verdict and her -6 Curse of the Cabal
Some cards have equally efficient replacements. For example Geralf's Messenger is cheaper than Kitchen Finks . Rain of Tears can fill the shoes Fulminator Mage and since u already have it Inquisition of Kozilek can deff cover for Thoughtseize . Ratchet Bomb can kinda cover Maelstrom Pulse
If you can't afford Dark Confidant try Sign in Blood and depending on your build Phyrexian Arena is totally modern playable. Underworld Connections not so much.
This is my Smallpox deck, BLΔCK ::MBC:: SMΔLLPOX but it's also kind of a mono-black version of the rock. (which beats my more expensive B/G build linked above)

Thanks all for your answers! :) I love all your deck expecially 8vomit-A pain in the Spine! and Apple01DOJ-Black (Gone Golgari). These are my favourite kind of deck, they can control every zone of the field but they're expensive too. I've finally understood that Rock is not the cheapest kind of deck in modern but I like these colours and I wanna try. I prefer 'cause I'm a noob make a good deck for play with my gf and friends and maybe in future improve it with several cards like fetchs and Bobs!

Scavenging Ooze is a great budget alternative to Goyf.

I think you mean after Innistrad left T2.
Try checking SCG or DCI event reports for model decklists.
