How viable can CoCo be right now?

I've seen more than a few Bant Collected Company decks on the site recently and it looks like a pretty fun deck and I am considering working on my own version. Before I get into anything though, I'd like to hear some opinions on how viable it could be in the meta right now.

Well, considering how CoCo Elves just won the Modern GP, I'd say CoCo is positioned fairly well. Granted it's going to see some hate in the next few weeks/months.

Collected Company is really strong. If you run a really low mana cost deck, that has a lot of mana ramp (AKA, elves), you can really pack a big punch with that card early. I would definitely say, if you have the money, it's a card to look into making a deck around, or a deck featuring it.

JWiley129 Yeah but that was just Mono Green and it was Elves, i'm talking specifically about Bant CoCo.

I know, I haven't seen a Bant CoCo list that I like, but you can certainly do some powerful things with it. You get access to cards like Meddling Mage, Deceiver Exarch, Pestermite, Silumgar Sorcerer, Trinket Mage, Vendilion Clique, Rhox War Monk, Jenara, Asura of War, Wistful Selkie, Winged Coatl, Trygon Predator, Coiling Oracle, Deputy of Acquittals, and Geist of Saint Traft. Now some of these are better than others, but these are the cards I could see Bant CoCo adding to the mix.

In my mind, it would be Noble Hierarch, Birds of Paradise, Geist of Saint Traft, Snapcaster Mage, Rhox War Monk, Vendilion Clique, Kitchen Finks and Meddling Mage as well as some support spells and possibly other creatures as well. CoCo is in itself very viable and I don't see a reason why bant should be any different.

I think Qasali Pridemage, Voice of Resurgence and Scavenging Ooze are very good too. Eternal Witness is the nuts off of a collected company.

CoCo is strongest in Naya Zoo and Bant. The Anafenza combo deck is flimsy. Elves is pretty decent, but a lot needs to go your way. In that sense, it's also a combo deck, but better than the Anafenza one, because it wins better.

Brian Kibler's list looks interesting. Unfortunately he didn't do to well at GP Charlotte.

Personally I like Elves best. FLip Elvish Archdruid and Ezuri, Renegade Leader and its game over.

I dislike Bant CoCo but like Naya CoCo

Saw a Bant list the other day running Magus of the Moon sideboard against heavy colour decks seems to do the job quite well whilst not really shutting you down with all your mana dorks. People seem to be forgetting Loxodon Smiter as well :P.

I've seen a couple w/g company decks splash blue for Geist of Saint Traft. It looks very viable. I'd say most Collected Company decks are viable, if not solidly tier 1. But tiers don't actually matter.

I'm incredibly tempted to run Simic CoCo as competitively as possible. I know it's not the most viable idea in comparison to stuff like Naya Zoo, Stompy or Elves in a similar category, but dammit I want Simic colours to have a competitive archetype!

That said, Stompy CoCo is fun as hell with stuff like Avatar of the Resolute, Leatherback Baloth and Dungrove Elder -- Strangleroot Geist is fantastic too!

I run a version of Bant collected company focused on locking down the Board state with cards like Kitchen Finks, Geist of Saint Traft, Voice of Resurgence, and Kira, Great Glass-Spinner.

I run 4 of both Birds of Paradise and Noble Hierarch for obvious reasons as well as 4 Eternal Witness as it can get you back creatures, fetchlands, Collected Company and even Path to Exile

I also run tarmogoyfs mainboard for some power on top of Geist of Saint Traft as well as Spellskite and Meddling Mage sideboard.

As Collected Company decks become more popular I can see more people sideboarding in Grafdigger's Cage (Pretty good spec card ;) )

I started working on a build last night, Two's Company, Three's A Crowd. I'm gonna try it out with Remands in it to see how they do. What do you guys think?

Ulturas Yeah, Magus of the Moon can be really effective without hurting the mana base too much, especially with BoP's or Nobles out. Loxodon Smiter is pretty good, especially against LoV or other Hand Disruption, but most of the time I feel like there are better options.

AdmiralAbzan I could see Grafdigger's Cage seeing more play to help against CoCo, but if it did then CoCo could just up the amounts of Qasali Pridemage or Reclamation Sage to help against it.
