Is dredge vine still competitive in modern?

I just got into MTGO recently and am looking for a net deck to build that won't cost me half a year worth of pay. Dredge vine looks like a fun fast deck to play and it looks like answers exist for it to use against graveyard hate. I'm wondering, though, is it competitive anymore or is it pretty much just a dead deck?

I think we will see a resurgence in graveyard decks now that Deathrite Shaman is banned. It won't be tier one. But it is viable! The meta is pretty shaken up right now, and it won't be clearly defined until we see the pro tour.

Yeah my only concern, is a lot of graveyard hate exists outside of deathrite. So I guess we'll just have to wait see if that is enough to keep graveyard decks out of the top 8.

I think Dredgevine is a very good, fun, and reasonably viable deck to get into modern, especially with DRS gone.

with the deathrite ban I expect Scavenging Ooze to see play as a playset more often so there will be answers to your deck but you will have less threats to deal with. I also believe that Dredge Vine will see more play and I am planning on revising my Modern deck as such. I was playing Junk before the ban but Im not sure its viable anymore with out the Shaman.

cool, well I think you guys sold me to play it. Now comes the fun part of trying to figure out what the meta is going to look like, so I can build a useful sideboard.

There is definitely still yard hate. But it's just not as awesome as drs was, which will open up some space for dredgevine and living end

SwiftDeath, Junk and Jund are still very viable. It's just a bunch of really good cards. Consider adding Kitchen Finks .

There will always be graveyard hate sadly but no longer a main boarded Deathrite Shaman , so re animation decks still have a shot so long as your deck can handle disruption well when their sideboard comes in.

from what i've seen most decks play Abrupt Decay since the graveyard hate dredgevine cares about is the early game hate like Rest in Peace or Relic of Progenitus

Leyline of the Void , Ancient Grudge , Gnaw to the Bone , Ray of Revelation and Lingering Souls (all color dependent) would be good sideboard cards.
