Is Fleecemane Lion viable in Modern?

As the title says, I'm interested in making a G/W Bogle deck for my LGS because my U/W version isn't really cutting it in its current state.

Looking at Harry Coverse's list here, I'm considering budget options to some of the cards in the deck. Namely Dryad Arbor. I know Lion is obviously not as good, but is it still viable as an option? Only being a two-of, I feel like it wouldn't be overly detrimental to the deck.

It's certainly viable, but know that you need the cheapest creatures possible to win quickly. Silhana Ledgewalker is a reasonable choice.

The Dryad Arbor is there for a very specific reason. They can be fetched for in respons to a Liliana of the Veil activation so your not forced to sac your hexproof creature with all it's auras.

It's the Fetchland-Arbor interaction that is the key, and that can't be replaced by "normal" creatures.

you will rarely get to 5 mana, so lion is mostly just a 3/3 for 2 mana, which is not good enough as that means that it dies to bolt.

Creatures that die to Lightning Bolt shouldn't be played, if they cost more mana than Lightning Bolt, unless they provide very good abilities (Dark Confidant, Scavenging Ooze), replace themself (Voice of Resurgence, Kitchen Finks) or are redundant (Ornithopter, Memnite, Lord of Atlantis, Master of the Pearl Trident).

So no, I don't think Fleecemane Lion is viable in Modern.

I wouldnt run it, like Marnir said, it is in bolt range, and if you pull off monstrosity T5 youve got a 4/4 protected beat stick that you tappedout for. Lili's -2.

Future sight dryad arbor is only like 5$, seems worth it.

Yeah the lion isn't too good in modern except maybe as a 1-of in a Junk MIdrange build so I would go with Silhana Ledgewalker as GlistenerAgent said...
