Is it worth running Favorable Winds in a faerie deck?

I'm considering building a faerie deck and i'm not sure if i should be considering Favorable Winds as an anthem effect to support the fae.

It lends itself to the deck in that it helps your fliers go over the top of opponent's fliers, but with the majority of the deck also being an almost "flash" tribal deck I think showing opponents "i have no counters i can cast this turn" weakens favorable interaction with opponent's actions.

Also, can Spellstutter Sprite hold it's own in a non-tribal deck in the format? I can see it dealing with bolts, a late Thoughtseize and paths alone in a tempo deck but are there better options that swing tempo in U/G? Plaxmanta strikes me as one, except it doesn't have evasion...

I'd just play Scion of Oona if you're looking for some kind of pump effect.

Also, in terms of U/G tempo, it's pretty much 'Goyf all the way, if you want an efficient beater that plays well with your deck. As for the sprite, I'm not too sure. WIthout back up, it's pretty situational.

is it worth running, sure Favorable Winds .. it gives everything with flying +1/+1 is it better than, Scion of Oona well that is your call. does it hit the board quicker sure.

can Spellstutter Sprite hold its own... as what a bad Mana Leak or an alternative to , Rune Snag ? or as a flash in chump blocker? sure it will stop a Tarmogoyf with out trample for a round, you would really be creating a situational use out of what normally a very nice counterspell that leaves a 1/1 flyer behind. in a crux it would work, but after early game or a tap out it really is a dead card in your hand unless you are trying to force them to tap to a point to prevent them from casting an extra spell in a turn.. in limited yes it holds its own very well constructed modern, not so much.

Plaxmanta vs Simic Charm again make your call, both offer hexproof, one leaves a 2/2 body if you have the mana, the other you need the mana, but also offers boost or a tempo swing, question is how do you want to play....

as someone who loves fae tribal, i have to tell you they look better than they play, if you like a tempo control deck, have fun, just remember in modern they are really a step behind the top rated decks... but man are they fun, however you can pad the living hell out of them with things likeTarmogoyf , Threads of Disloyalty , Sword of Feast and Famine , Sword of Fire and Ice ,

I like Favorable Winds in that it is an enchantment which is harder to remove than a creature like the scion. However, if you had two Scion of Oona 's out, their shroud would cover each other, which would be significantly better than 2 Favorable Winds .

I'm also of the opinion that outside of faerie tribal, Rune Snag is the better counter option in terms of actually getting spells countered. If you're just looking to slow your opponent by tacking on costs to their spells to allow them fewer spells or activations each turn, then having a spell on legs might be better because you have attackers and blockers leftover. Mostly, it'll be down to your personal preference and the effectiveness of each card in your local meta; there really are situations where either card would be more useful than the other.

Thqt u/g tempo idea will be using the swords, and i plan to put my old Cold-Eyed Selkie s to work... it'll probably run mana dorks to jump the cut from 1cmc straight to 3 on turn 2

I like the evasion on the fae for the swords... and atm the biggest threat to the deck's plan would be removal, which the fae seem to cover. I'd throw in some Vendilion Clique s but i only have a single one...

As for my faerie deck itself, i like the idea of constantly surprising my opponent or at least keeping them on their toes... the problem with faeries is the lack of turn 1 action and pretty heavy on turn 3 actions. What would you suggest? I've seen an awesome one that splashes green for Birds of Paradise , Noble Hierarch , Garruk Wildspeaker and Scryb Ranger to keep up with those costs, i think that'll be the direction i'll be pushing my deck towards

if i was to start playing this deck again out side of a fun kitchen table game i would start replacing cards that i now have that i did not when i built the deck, there are also a few cards from the RTR block that i would likely test run in there.
