Is Tasigur viable in 8rack?

So I don't mean to get on the Golden Wang fan train but I was looking over my 8rack deck recently and was wondering how viable is Tasigur, the Golden Fang in the archetype as a whole? I mean his activated ability is a bit of a moot point since it's either unusable or just irrelevant but still a 4/5 beat stick isn't bad if you can't seem to hit an Ensnaring Bridge right? Especially if you can keep removing threats with the discard spells. I personally run Murderous Cut with relative ease in my current build for those that would say he can't be delved for in 8rack. But maybe I'm terribly wrong. Just figured food for thought. Like I said I'm asking about him in the archetype as a whole.

Hm.. you're right that the ability is questionable and irrelevant for 8rack, but I think it would be worth trying one or two to see how it spins.

fair enough. I think I may use it for the sideboard for those games against sided in leylines just because sometimes it may be best for him to eat removal though I do agree the rat is a little better for this type of deck. I personally have a 2 and 2 split main and side for the rat. Like I said food for thought because for 8rack having access to a 4/5 beat stick is potentially huge.

It's definitely a big thing. It's just that against decks you can't target you NEED that threat or you auto lose essentially.

I think that Tasigur is not really the best card for 8-Rack. While a good card, it seems to stray away from what it is doing. Just isn't the type of card that 8-Rack needs.. or even wants. However, on another note, have you tried Tasigur's Cruelty in your 8-Rack? It is a good card, I haven't personally used it but when I did have my 8-Rack, I was just dumping cards in the grave. I think it would be a fun card to add, if you want another delve card.

My problem with cruelty is when I see it it just feels like a win more card because based on how 8rack functions by the time I can drop it my opponent's hand is probably already empty. I mean if they try making a comeback it's solid but idk if it's what the deck wants.

Yeh so, against leyline decks I typically run Pack Rat. Although I still think the rat is better because it can dodge removal spells. I thought about Taz in 8rack and whilst he's better initially the problem is that he doesn't dodge removal. For that reason alone the rat wins it for me. The problem is that 8rack can only run like 2 or 3 creatures in the main board for fear of diluting the strategy. You therefore want your creatures to survive. That means looking for things like rat that makes copies or hexproof stuff etc.
