Is THIS a thing???

Modern forum

I just saw a Jund list that splashes white for Ajani Vengeant and a pair of Path to Exile s.

The SB includes 3x copies of Stony Silence also.

I just want to know if this is worth pursuing? I mean, I am building a Jund deck for modern, and I am aware that there are 50 cards that must be in it. the other 25 I guess are up to the meta.

I suppose I am just trying to figure out if I should try this out or if it's worth trying it out. any thoughts?

From what I understand (I'm new to modern), it's called Ajundi and also plays Lingering Souls sometimes.

It is indeed a thing. I usually see at as Ajani Venjund, or Light Jund. Sometimes they run Helix too.

Personally, I like it better than traditional Jund if you don't mind the extra land$

Ajundi Vengeant sounds like the coolest deck ever. If I played Modern, I would play that.

Yes this is a thing and was a very common decklist in Prague. I saw the event live and I contemplated splashing for the colors as well. I don't know if it will stay a good build but for now the decklist looks solid and plays very well. Only 2 people managed to top 8 with the list and After reviewing the cards it looks more like Junk splash red then Jund splash white. To be honest, it's probably the strongest deck in Modern right now. You don't see it pop up as much as it should because of how expensive the deck is (well over $1,000).

It has all the goodies that would make you play Junk, but keeps it in a Jund shell for consistency. Discarding Lingering Souls to Liliana of the Veil means you don't get roflpwnt by Snapcaster Mage /Lightning Bolt , one of the key reasons to splash white. The extra sideboard tech protects the deck from Tron and Pod, arguably Jund's worst matchups.

sylvannos that's what's drawing the interest in this variant. The tron and pod match ups. Which, incidentally are very popular at my shop. The price I am not too worried about, I will have a functional Jund list in a couple weeks already built, (picking up some more goyfs when tax returns come in) the only thing I would be missing is the lillis. It should be finished during modern season, but I am in no rush.

Thanks guys for the feedback.
