Jace, Vryn's Prodigy + Tome Scour

I know I can't be the first person to recognize turn 1 Tome Scour on yourself allows you to flip Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip on turn 2. Is there a competitive Modern deck this combo could fit into or would it be better to design a new deck around it? There's gotta be a way to abuse this and I'm sure someone on T/O has already thought about it extensively. I don't typically play mill-style strategies. If this has already been discussed, sorry, I only scanned the first page of posts.

Jace does not have haste, so he can't be flipped before turn three, and is not worth flipping so early in most matchups anyway.

SpartanCEL ok thanks I'll look into that.
GlistenerAgent you mean Thought Scour is better than Tome Scour? I'm assuming it's because it cantrips, right? I guess if we're not looking to use Jace until mid game the 3 card difference in milling won't matter.
Seems the consensus is Grixis Delver is the best home for this style of combo.

Heck, fetchland + Thought Scour is already enough cards to flip Jace, Telepath Unbound Flip the turn after you play him. Man is that stupid...

Yeah, Thought Scour is pretty much better since it puts 3 cards in your 'yard and draws you a card. Also in most decks you'll already have a fetchland in the graveyard, so that's 4 cards. Then Jace only needs to loot once to flip. Unless you're controlling the Graveyard with cards like Tasigur, the Golden Fang or Gurmag Angler.

Not to mention that Tome Scour should never be in any deck you ever play.
If you have a fetchland, then Jace flips at the same time.

GlistenerAgent lol ok I will burn my copies. :) forgot about fetch lands ! I'm surprised Tome Scour hasn't found a home in some mill or Laboratory Maniac deck. Was just flipping through cards, saw it and was like "5 cards? That's what the new Jace needs!"
JWiley129 cool that makes a lot of sense.
KillDatBUG yeah seems like it could be easily abused. Time to get brewing...

Since jace doesn't have haste you can't activate his ability until turn 3. The wording means you have to activate his ability for the effect to happen.
So you could turn 2 play him. Turn 3 Tome Scour and tap him. I feel like the more typical Thought Scour grixis delver could have him
