I actually read this article about a year ago about this dude (possibly from Channel Fireball) dicussed mono-white enchantment control with the only wincon being Heliod, God of the Sun. This is similar and just as annoying.

I played this deck on TO not long ago, I was playing UWR Control, With maindeck Aven Mindscensor and Shadow of Doubt.

I wouldn't say he was lucky. Its just that no one was prepared for it. There is A LOT of great enchantment hate out there. It just goes to show that even rogue decks can perform under the right circumstances
