looking for a new modern deck.

I've been playing Burn for a while now, looking to change things up, so I'm looking for a new deck. Preferably something with some spice rather than just whatever the most recent winner was, but I'm open to pretty much anything. Suggestions?

"Pretty much open to anything"...the question was meant to be open ended.

How's that? You never said it had to be competitive.

Building a New, Crueler Meta (!!SUGGESTIONS!!)My Cruel Control deck, very fun

Some precision would be nice. Favorite colors, favorite style, favorite creature, player type, competitive?

Build Rock. It's like Jund or Junk but with a far more solid mana base and more space for utility.

Because people keep asking:
Favourite colors: White, Blue, Black, Red, Green, or any combination of them.
Favourite style: the one where I use pieces of cardboard to play a game.
Favourite creature: Can we pretend Necropotence is a creature?
Player type: I guess johnny? Whichever one likes doing combo-ish stuff.
Competitive: Well its a deck for modern...so yes.

It sounds to me that you're more just a hardcore spike with a proclivity for combo decks. Go play Twin.

I'd vote Twin as well. ...though you could go Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker+Restoration Angel if you're into home brews.

Tron eggs, it's different, fun, and competitive. tron for breakfast

I actually specifically suggest Grixis Twin. You get a little worse match up against aggressive strategies, but the mirror, Abzan, control, and combo match ups get infinitely better.

iLikeDirt - no need to get salty mate, there are people who exist that don't have a "type" and just like to play the game.

Scapeshift master race. It's pretty interesting to play, and, contrary to popular belief, does take skill to play and actually combo off.
Hint: You can probably kill them. Even if you think you can't.

You could try a Collected Company build. I've been playing my own list, 1-800-COMPANY, to pretty solid success. It's got combos and it's competitive, but it's also not nearly as common as decks like Splinter Twin if you're looking for something a little more off the beaten path. There are a lot of great articles out there about the archetype, in particular the one by Brian Braun-Duin on StarCityGames (you do have to have SCG Premium to read it, though). Check it out.

I'll agree with GlistenerAgent and say play Scapeshift. It's not good at the moment, but that is why you can win with it. Nobody sideboards for it, and nobody knows how to sideboard for it.

But no one is playing it.
I also have Islands in my deck.
EDIT: Blood Moon is, in fact, a thing. Every Scapeshift player is ready for it and nearly every other hate card your deck normally has access to.
Like I said: Scapeshift master race!

I honestly haven't seen many of the current Jund lists but I assume they would have Sowing Salt for Tron if nothing else. ...either way I'd welcome more Scapeshift and less Delver.

They generally go for Fulminator Mage, though Sowing Salt isn't out of the question.

As a Scapeshift player I find more often than not people are bringing Leyline of Sanctity in over Blood Moon, though that may be just because of availability or the fact that the decks that have access to it in my meta don't want to ever touch it (3 color twin that goes in hard on their splash, Bloom Titan etc.)
To address PlattBonnay, my response may have come off as abrasive because your initial response to me was. However it was a legitimate suggestion from someone who also fits in that camp, a spike with a proclivity for combo decks >.> Twin and Scapeshift, possibly Storm are all right up your alley.

Less decks have Leyline as compared to Blood Moon. Blood Moon is more of a pain in the butt.

Or esper control or esper geist, but that's just because I really like esper. Anyway whatever you chose make sure you won't get bored of it soon (cause burn is just boring).

Oh absolutely GlistenerAgent, Leyline you just bounce all day long. Blood Moon takes more work for sure lol

That question is pretty open ended bud. If you could give us more info on strategies you enjoy, colors that appeal to you, maybe budget etc. would help us to help you.
