Looking to build goblins for modern
Modern forum

whats the best for modern build, B/R goblin or just mono red?
Black Red gives access to Terminate, more removal and Hand Disruption spells, as well as an extra goblin lord.
Mono Red lets you run stuff like Tec Edge more easily.
Are you doing AEther Vial Goblins or what?

B/R Goblins with Wort, Boggart Auntie & Auntie's Hovel ? Frogtosser Banneret Knucklebone Witch , Mad Auntie

I would strongly recommend going with B/R/x Goblins for Modern with four Simian Spirit Guide s to churn out turn one Warren Instigator . If you connect, you drop in Frogtosser Banneret and hit them with a turn two Earwig Squad . That's enough to cripple most decks in Modern.
Wort, Boggart Auntie has been a long-time secret sideboard tech against Fish, Tempo, and any deck that wants to fight a war of attrition.
IMO there's just too many good cards in B/R/x to only play mono color. I'd suggest a splash of green for Tin Street Hooligan for the Affinity and Tron match-ups in the sideboard.

B/R Goblins gets Blood Crypt , Auntie's Hovel , Sulfurous Springs , Graven Cairns , Dragonskull Summit , Lavaclaw Reaches , and Blackcleave Cliffs ....so there's a lot of options as far as lands go.
The good thing about Arid Mesa and Scalding Tarn , however, is you can fetch a Stomping Ground for additional sideboard options.

I've played a lot of goblins, B/R, R and even B/R/G. I gotta say, you are best off going mono red, both for budget and consistency.
Black gives disruption in a combo heavy meta, but it doesn't have such a good game versus good stuff decks and stuff like UWR.
AEther Vial is really a must. It lets you do lots of tricks and allows you to disrupt mana bases much more easily, without having to run 8 none red sources for your bolts and the like.

@SaiyenFury: This is what I've had in mind for a while to play in Modern. Landing a turn two Earwig Squad has been consistent. The fact that you can take away all copies of Melira, Sylvok Outcast from Pod or Grapeshot from Storm is just mean. Similarly, you can take away a Tron player's Urza's Tower s and then Ghost Quarter the one they play.
I haven't played it on paper yet the way LeaPlath, so LeaPlath is probably correct about Mono-Red giving more consistency and disruption (you can play a full set of Tectonic Edge , Ghost Quarter , and AEther Vial in Mono-Red).

Actually, I would only run Tech Edge and Mountains/red sources. Reason being is you want bolts, possibly scrapnal blasts (depending on what you run) and you need that early mountain drops.
