Lupine Prototype in Affinity?

Personally, I think this card could be insanely good- A 5/5 for 2 is definitely better than Myr Enforcer, and the drawback on this isn't actually that significant. The question is then, what would you cut from Affinity for this... What do you guys think?

Honestly I figure it would be more of a rogue 8-rack build.

Yep I thought about 8 rack too but Ensnaring Bridge is a must have and it sadly doesn't interact well with Prototype...

Affinity doesn't want it. Too expensive cost for no evasion and significant downside.
It's bad form in affinity to always completely unload your hand.

Don't worry guys. We'll see like... five more of these threads in the next couple weeks.

Indeed, I asked the very same question the day it was spoiled ahah

It's pretty telling on how good the cards Affinity has available that Lupine Prototype isn't even considered. It's not even as good as Ensoul Artifact, honestly.

Good point rothgar13.
Darksteel Citadel + Ensoul Artifact was slightly hard to argue with. Path to Exile it? Okay, sure. I'll go get a land to replace my land. Only downside is the loss of artifact.
But that downside plus the fact that you're spending two mana on something besides Cranial Plating makes it bad enough for the deck.
I think Affinity is pretty well solved for now. And I'm sure Wizards will be very careful not to make anything else that supports it for a while. I think they want it's long time in the charts to dwindle away, at least for now.

That's starting to happen already, in my opinion. Affinity is still Tier 1, but that's always been true. Its metagame share is about as low as it's ever been right now.

You can't cut anything profitably from affinity to shove this in. Affinity doesn't have the need for a random 5/5 that sometimes can't attack.
