What this thread is for is to help myself and other new players know what kind of decks they'll have to prepare for. Please post 1 deck type and what simple solutions can shut it down or make it an agonizing crawl for them.
For example: Tron - Ramps using Urza lands into Karn Liberated, Batterskull, Wurmcoil Engine, Oblivion Stone, Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Ugin, the Spirit Dragon. Gets there using Chromatic Star, Chromatic Sphere, Sylvan Scrying, and Ancient Stirrings.
Ideal hate cards for tron include Ancient Grudge if you're playing those colors, Pithing Needle if you're playing an artifact deck, Stony Silence if you're playing White Wienies or Hatebears, Tectonic Edge / Ghost Quarter if playing Life from the Loam and Fulminator Mage for non Loam decks with Rakdos colors.
Looking forward to seeing some of the communities knowledge.

bloom titan. combo deck that uses Amulet of Vigor with Summer Bloom and Simic Growth Chamber to get to six mana on turn two, then cast Primeval Titan or Hive Mind and either tutor for land combos that give titan haste, or cast a pact and force you to copy it so you lose during your next upkeep
there isn't much to do against the deck if it goes off turn two with hive mind. just kills you on the spot. hate cards that work include Ancient Grudge to kill the amulets and halt the mana, Ghost Quarter and Tectonic Edge (more quarter than edge) to kill the utility lands (kill the land in response to the untap trigger from the amulet), Blood Moon because, well, it's a lands deck you just entirely butcher it by playing that card. Spreading Seas is surprisingly bad because of the bounce lands. just thought I would mention its unexpected badness. Torpor Orb and Hushwing Gryff both stop the primeval titan from going off. the issue is that if the deck draws the nuts it kills you before you have mana for or draw into your answers. there's also an unexpectedly large variety of possible plays with it. a tip as someone who runs the deck, if you ever have targeted land destruction open (Fulminator Mage, Ghost Quarter, Tectonic Edge) and you see your opponent about to bounce a Tolaria West, kill it. it means there's a pact coming, which means either hive mind will kill you or it'll search for a titan, which will be deadly to you.

If you play in the midwest us area, expect Twin, affinity, Merfolk, and value abzan. Not really what the thread is about, but since that topic already exists in the modern format primer, I figure that this would be some good info.

I did write the Modern Format Primer - Banlist Update (19/1/2015) for a reason...

More playable through hate and more resilient to removal like Path? Realistically I don't know, but those sound like decentguesses

I borrowed a tron deck this last Wednesday and there was one Batterskull in the side, and it did help against burn. I took out the 1x Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and put the Batterskull in and it kept him from attacking with Goblin Guide when I was at 7 and he had 2 cards in hand. Next turn I swung and dropped Wurmcoil Engine and he was done.

I think there is already this kind of thing in the modern format primer but here goes:
Some good hate cards include Rest in Peace and Relic of Progenitus to take care of their Snapcaster Mages and Counterflux to trump their counterspells. Also, Tectonic Edge and Molten Rain take care of Celestial Colonnade.
