Meta Situation/Shift?
Modern forum

So what's the new meta going to look like for Modern?
With Golgari Grave-Troll and Gitaxian Probe banned, some decks like Infect, Grixis Control and Dredge got nerfed, others, like Suicide Zoo, Griselbrand and Storm are in danger of totally falling out. On the other hand Fatal Push got introduced as an agressive and cheap answer for creatures.
So, what decks do you think will be dominant in the next couple of weeks?

I don't think delver really got hurt to much from the banning of probe it really just opened flex slots for Fatal Push and ive already seen some decks that never ran probe but Ancestral Vision instead for main card draw. Now storm...rip id say storm is dead now the only card I could see be put in place of probe is peek and that's just a really bad replacement that deck needs free draw spells. Now for the meta is think there gonna be alot of esper control variants popping up along with more grixis control/delver doing really good, but I do have to agree with the tron and burn decks coming out for those free wins.

I hope Fatal Push means Esper will become viable!
I'm working on several Esper builds - control, Monastery Mentor (less good without Probe) and UWb midrange - and Push is... well pushed.
I just think we'll see more grixis and more Tron. Eldrazis remain very viable and consistent so I wouldn't expect huge changes aside from less infect and less dredge tbh.

Omeros, SwaggyMcSwagglepants yeah, I mixed that up. Meant to say Delver.
Personally, I'm interested in people's opinions about how many Anger of the Gods I'm going to see, and to a lesser extent wraths. Less Aggro and the addition of prime black spot removal should decrease the urge to access the other effects, or am I missing something?

Assuming Tron makes a comeback you're likely to see a lot more of Pyroclasm. There may be fewer wrath effects but if Control/big Midrange decks come back in full force they'll probably have 1-2 wrath effects between main and board.
There's a decent number of people using Fatal Push as justification to try and make BUG work. That means more Maelstrom Pulse as well, which may matter to you.

Omeros that actually helped. Thanks for your analysis and your opinion, much appreciated!

Everyone's guessing until we see some results from tournaments but there are some common expectations.
Midrange becomes more viable in general, but this means Tron should make a comeback to prey on them. Valakut decks may become popular again as well. Once Tron starts to show up Burn should become more popular in response.
Weaker Infect pilots are probably going to put the deck down for a while but the better players of that deck will still have success. Fatal Push may hurt them more than the loss of Probe. Death's Shadow is hit harder than Infect by these changes although some variant may stick around for now.
Until things stabilize I highly recommend building a sideboard with broad answers. Try to avoid cards only useful for one matchup in favor of cards you'll use in multiple situations.
Finally, I don't know where you're coming from that you think Grixis Control was hurt. The deck didn't run Probe and Push is a godsend for it.
