Would this be a decent 1 of in affinity seeing as affinity tohave a reliable source to 3 colours merely needs to replace Shivan Reef with a 5 color land of choice

Turn 2 possible cast turn 3 highly likely and recovers the turn you lost to cast it if it survives 1 turn, it's like running Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas which see's play in legacy and is consistent on turn 2 cast my affinity deck has drum, opal, 3 glimmervoid and a mana confluence for 5 colour fixing
And wouldnt saying "sac Ornithopter to ravager play thopter return thopter from gy to play sac both" not be funny?

Mishra is too slow for the fastest deck in the format.
You can have an entire deck built around Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas, and it can be really good, but Mishra is nowhere near fast enough.

Costing four mana (of three different colors, which is incredibly hard to do in that deck), and likely being the last card you play, meaning that you don't get as much value out of it as you would need out of a four-drop in Affinity.

This is the wrong thread for this, but man, I really wish there could be an EDH Mishra deck. The effect seems so broken when it's always usable, especially in a slower, grindier format, but too bad he's a nombo with himself in singleton. I mean, he's a three color legendary creature with utility, he was almost, ALMOST perfect for EDH.

mishra would be bad in edh and higlander due to both being 100 card singleton

@CrazyLittleGuy He actually is decent in EDH since you can use Blood Funnel and Nether Void to make your spells uncounterable. He also can be used this way to get really high storm counts, finishing in a Tendrils of Agony

mishra doesn't work in commander due to the pure fact that there's only 1 of each card in your deck and his ability states "same name" as for getting storm counts the effect doesn't say "cast" so doesn't increase storm count

@tyforthevenom Mishra, Artificer Prodigy and Blood Funnel are on the field. You cast an artifact spell. Mishra, Artificer Prodigy triggers, letting you search. Then Blood Funnel triggers, countering your spell. The counter is removed from the stack first, putting the spell into the graveyard. Then Mishra's search comes off the stack, letting you search for the card and finding it in your graveyard. The artifact is then put into play.
As for storm, you do this again, but you use Null Profusion, Vedalken Archmage, Hurkyl's Recall, and a lot of cheap artifacts. Each one can't be countered, and lets you dig really deep through your deck for your copy of Tendrils of Agony or Grapeshot

I wouldn't actually call a 4 mana 4/4 creature with "your artifact spells can't be countered if Nether Void is on the battlefield" all that good actually, especially considering he eats up your commander slot which could be something more useful. That's actually a neat interaction though lemmingllama, I hadn't thought of it. There are just so many other broken things you could be doing to storm off.

Too slow for one of the most powerful, consistent and speedy decks in the format.
