Deathrite Shaman is banned, and Bitterblossom and Wild Nacatl are unbanned.

What do you guys think about these changes, and for the modern meta? I would like to see modern fairies, but I don't like the banning of DRS, even though I do agree that it is such a powerful card. What do you guys think?

Blossom is one of my favorite cards ever. Excited as fuck to play it in Modern.

We all knew exactly that these are what would happen, it was the most agreed upon by users. Does everyone else here believe that people will just swap in Bitterblossom now that Deathrite Shaman is banned?

Depends on the deck. They serve very different purposes.

Moved to Modern because this isn't really a spoiler or rumor. It's confirmed and already announced.

Also, please check the forums next time. The front page is flooded with these posts.

Bought a playset of DRS about a month ago. Great. At the same time i almost bought 3 bitterblossoms for $4 each but didnt because it was banned. Great.

Does this knock Jund out of Tier 1?

Everyone thinking this knows jund out of tier one needs to clam their tits haha. They took one attrition card, DRS, and gave it Bitterblossom they just play heavier on Kitchen Finks and call it good. Everyone thought the sky was falling when they gave Bloodbraid Elf the hammer, and guess what? Jund still showed up as a 6 or 5 in the top 8 of an MTGO event like 2 days after the ban went in place

I'm not sure if Jund wants another life-drain card, like Dark Confidant , without adding some form of life-gain ( like Loxodon Warhammer or Batterskull ), but I absolutely love the fact that Bitterblossom got unbanned!!!

Deathrite Shaman made playing Eternal Command difficult, so that ban makes me happy, personally. Now I'll probably build Faeries next, just because I love the deck :3

You can't just pop Bitterblossom into Jund in place of DRS and call it good. Without DRS, Jund just isn't quick enough to keep up with Affinity and Zoo (which now has Wild Nacatl back). Imagine this:

Z1: Stomping Ground , Wild Nacatl
J1: Shock Land untapped, Thoughtseize (not DRS) (J16,Z18).
Z2: Sacred Foundry , Goblin Guide and Kird Ape , swing 5 (J11, Z16)
J2: Bitterblossom (still no creatures and no turn 2 Lili).
Z3: Swing all, bloodrush Ghor-Clan Rampager . Game.

It basically dies to all fast decks now just because it can't pump out a Lili or a Kitchen Finks on turn 2.

I wonder ... I had wanted to make Oona EDH this summer ... but with faeries making a come-back, it might jump out of my price-range again! I had just moved my price-range up a notch from 50-100 to 100-150. It looks like I will be waiting for that full time job to land before I make Oona EDH. We shall see. I have time to watch / wait. It is tempting to jump now ... but I can't keep doing that over and over again. I can do that once and I did it already with C13. I already have plenty of decks to use in the mean time.

I would rather keep Bitterblossom banned, don't have an opinion yet on Deathrite Shaman , and am happy that Wild Nacatl made a comeback.
