Could you imagine the reaction if they banned Siege Rhino and not Tarmogoyf, the uproar would be ridiculous. Decks will (need to) adjust to kill the rhino, and people will be sparing with how they use their tools like Path to Exile among others when playing the Abzan deck as killing Siege Rhino will be important. It certainly won't be an oppressive force though. If any creature needs to be banned its the Tarmogoyf but that shouldn't be banned as that will ruin fair decks and thus a large proportion of the meta. WotC just need to reprint it a ridiculous ammount in order to get that extortianate price down a bit. Also in the decks she's in Liliana of the Veil is most definitely NOT a one of.

branston567 - actually tarmogoyf is weaker to removal than siege rhino. Tarmo is only stronger due to mana cost but in terms of removability he's a smaller threat.

Emrakul, the Aeons Torn dies to a 1/1 deathtouch bee. He's also trash. EVERYTHING IS TRASH.

Bear in mind that a 1/1 deathtouch bee also dies to a 1/1 deathtouch bee.
Which means that Emrakul <- Bee <- Bee.
Be is the strongest creature in the game.

Why play Path to Exile? It SUCKS can be countered by Fold into AEther then they get that 1/1 deathtouch bee. Why do we even play this game?

My point is I haven't seen a rhino killed by anything other than at least 2-3 cards which is a lot of cards to kill 1 creature that isn't emrakul (love the comic. HaHaHa!).

I was thinking of making a deck that has like 15 one mana ramp creatures like Birds of Paradise, Arbor Elf, Llanowar Elves. Get to T3, and if you have 2 creatures down already you can generate 5 mana. Play a 1 mana creature, counter it with Fold into AEther and then grab Emrakul or Wurmcoil Engine.

True but that does require more cards, but with Fold into AEther you'd possibly get 2 of the 3 big three lol. Anywho came across this gem about pod looking up sb against affinity (I'm curious what decks take out for their sb cards) and it's like Caligula's post on Modern Banned list

@Epochalyptik How would you define Modern then? It has a base of sets (8th edition up to Scars or whatever it was when they announced it) and New sets rotate into it, while nothing rotates out. I always thought the "nothing rotates out" was what made it "eternal."

Wternal formats include every card ever printed with a black or white border. Modern is a non-rotating format. Nothing rotates out, but it only includes cards from blocks and core sets.

What do you put in every green modern deck, or deck that does or possible can splash green: Tarmogoyf.
Why hasn't this been banned yet? (And don't say it's because the collectors and modern players would flip out over it, because wizards have repeatedly stated they don't care about the secondary market.)

They clearly do care about investors b/c of the reserve list. The only reason they wouldnt reprint the power nine and dual lands is b/c they care about investors b/c that would be a serious revenue source

How many people see that many goyfs accross the table anyways? Legit question. From what I know of my closest LGS it's all budget tier 1s and one guy on ad nauseam

Goyf should not be banned. It should be printed in the basic land slot of Dragons of Tarkir, though.

Heh, wonder if the Birthing Pod players complaining that their deck is a waste of money now would stop if Goyf got banned. "Sure your whole deck is kind of invalidated, but these 4 cards were worth more than your deck"
