Modern Budget Gruul Aggro Deck Ideas?
Modern forum

Hello! I've done some thinking and concluded that as a back-up deck or a Sister deck to my existing one, I might make a Modern Budget Gruul Aggro Deck.
Any ideas on what to put in the deck?

I guess you missed the part about budget.
Moved to Modern.

Gah. I hate not having an edit function. Here's a deck list for you to get started:
The $800 price tag is from the mana base and Tarmogoyf s. Without those, it's more like a $30~$50 deck. If your area allows proxies, this is a fairly inexpensive deck to build.
Even without Tarmogoyf , the deck can still kill people by turn four.

You have a better card pool and more utility with Jund. Abrupt Decay , Tragic Slip , Devour Flesh , Duress , Despise , Dreadbore , Hero's Downfall , Deathrite Shaman , etc. Some of those aren't budget, but you get the idea. Just my two cents.

@aeonstoremyliver: Jund is more of a Midrange deck in Modern. It sets up multiple two-for-ones before finishing someone off with a Tarmogoyf , Deathrite Shaman , or Dark Confidant . It's also a $1,000 deck that doesn't function without Liliana of the Veil and the appropriate fetch lands.
@Epochalyptik: I really wish we had an edit function on here. My post got posted before I was finished writing lol.

@sylvannos I'm aware of the awesomeness of Jund :-) What I was pointing out was that by adding black, one gets utility. There are many budget options for a more Aggro approach like Terminate , Go for the Throat , Dismember (which could go in any deck...) etc. Sometimes a Lightning Bolt doesn't cut it for removal. Also having discard in the arsenal can help stop combo decks, ala the aforementioned budget discard cards like Duress and Despise .

Build Gruul Blitz. Add Tarmogoyf and Kird Ape . Boom. Deck's finished.
