Modern Mardu Tokens

How well do you guys think a modern W/B/R token deck would work? I'm thinking mostly like the modern event deck but with red to add in Young Pyromancer, Boros Charm, and Lightning Bolt. The pyros would go in for the Tidehollow Scullers making it 6 creatures in the deck meaning that most cards you play will leave you with and extra token, which will then get buffed up with Intangible Virtue. So my question is do you guys think this is viable in modern? I definitely am going to start playtesting is online and I will tell you guys how it goes!

I've been considering a Control list that essentially does the same thing. You've got a great removal suite, hand disruption, and lots of little bodies to clog up the board. It only makes sense.

My question with this deck is always, is Phyrexian Arena good enough/required for card draw?
I'm thinking Bob is required.

Talked to token guru about this. It dilutes the deck quite a lot so in a sense it won't work the way you want it to. On the other hand, play out less like a control deck and more about aggression and you can get there. Young pyro isn't good for this as much add it looks like.

In the other hand mardu control had been using Pack Rat and Mutavault if you want straight tokens then there's really no true reason to include red. For the most part all you get is burn which doesn't matter with the amount of tokens you should be producing

I want to think Purphoros could be useful here, but a 4 mana spell that's not doing anything until the next turn seems annoying to me.

Truthfully, I think Junk tokens is the strongest. Gives Access to Voice of Resurgence and Fists of Ironwood

You explained Mardu tokens better than I can. Other than that nothing really just alerting OP that you're probably the best Modern token player around.

Ahh. Well red doesn't really do much for tokens. Young Pyromancer seems like a good card until you consider that tokens really don't play that many sorceries and instants. The way we curve out we typically play only 1 a turn. Tidehollow Sculler is the better choice for the 2 cmc spot for that reason. And Purphoros, God of the Forge is flavorful, but 1-he's dependent on having a token producer in hand that you can play next turn and 2-Often times an Elspeth, Knight-Errant will deal just as much damage, if not more, over the 2 turns that purphoros would take to use his effect. Between the mana fixing problems and everything else, it's just better to remain b/w.

The best kind of deck for Dega is probably some Team Italia decks, otherwise known as dark boros. It's pretty much what you would imagine. Lilianas, Lightning Bolts, Bobs, Lightning Helix, discard suite, and I've seen a few list start to run Pack Rats because that card can get really out of hand if left unchecked.
Making a token variant might be viable, but I'm still not entirely sure how well that would work. I feel like the troubles that would arise from the splashing of red would outweigh the benefits of getting Young Pyromancer. I for one, would love to see how your testing goes because a format like modern allows for a lot of creativity. I mean a treefolk deck won an event recently so why not Dega Tokens?
