Modern threats.

So I know this is a very broad topic but I would like to hear what you have to say about common threats that you face in Modern tournies and what you do to counter them. What cards do you fear? What cards are a must in your sideboard to subdue a pesky power card?
I know this is rather deck specific, one deck might not see a card as a potential problem while the same card might brutally murder a different deck time and time again. So lets hear some situations that you've found yourself in, I'd take any observations at this point.
(I currently am working on the sideboard to my modern deck Pyrogoblins which is why I am asking.)
Splinter Twin is also a huge issue for alot of people.

So I've been working on my sideboard for some time fearing that there are many ways to break down my goblins. One suggested weakness was milling decks breaking me down before I can get my burn moving. One card I've found that fits very well in my sideboard is Surgical Extraction. I wont be running any swamp but swapping that in to discard either 4 nonbasic land in a tron deck or 4 counterspells would be entirely worth the 2 life that it will cost me to cast it. Has anyone else found that Surgical Extraction fits well in almost any decks sideboard?

Surgical Extraction can certainly be useful in some matchups, the same could be said of Engineered Explosives or Ratchet Bomb. Relic of Progenitus also finds its way into many sideboards for modern if their colors don't have better graveyard hate.
one of red's best tools is artifact destruction, Smash to Smithereens or Shattering Spree can make short work out of affinity.

Turn 3 Karn Liberated or Geist of Saint Traft will usually wipe a grin off my face. Both those cards need to be answered immediately if you want any chance of pulling through.
Pyroclasm or Volcanic Fallout are something you are likely going to have to worry about.
Other things that will probably ruin your day: Kitchen Finks, Supreme Verdict, Tarmogoyf, or something like Gifts Ungiven resolving. A turn 1 Inquisition of Kozilek can usually turn your hand to garbage.
is your opponent running White? always expect a Path to Exile, especially if they're keeping a land untapped. Is your opponent running blue? don't expect to be able to cast anything if they have untapped mana, Mana Leak, Remand, Spell Snare and Spell Pierce are very common for control decks to be packing. try to lure their counterspells with cards like Lava Spike before trying to cast Goblin Grenade.
