Speaking specifically about super aggressive version of Zoo - why do they not run Goblin Guide? I don't beleive I've seen them run it but it seems like a fairly good pick.
Anyone know why?
Both have the potential to do 6 damage in 3 turns, and Guide comes in T1 with haste so can get damage in before removal spells come into the game.

I don't see why it hasn't been played more, it does seem like a great addition. Especially for aggro zoo.
Not sure how it would do in Midrange zoo, that seems like the wrong fit for it.

Yeh but there are versions of zoo that are basically all one drops and then a few goyfs and that's like it.

Because it gets outclassed incredibly fast. You're not as fast as burn, so the drawback matters more.
Also, you've got better one drops. Kird Ape doesn't have haste, but 2/3 beats Electrolyze and Forked Bolt and Izzet Charm.

I thought that the hyper aggro version that only plays 1 and 2 drops used Goblin Guide as a 4-of? Although that version of the deck basically dies to Anger of the Gods, so that could be why many Zoo builds opt for bigger creatures instead. Still, I much prefer Goblin Guide over Loam Lion

GlistenerAgent - you can run both. In fact you can run all 3 - guide, nacatl, lion. Run bolt. Run boros charm. Run goyf. Call it a day.

I suppose. Maybe you want Steppe Lynx also? Geist of Saint Traft gets in there, four mana guys, a couple of Snapcaster Mages, all of which are better than Goblin Guide except maybe Lynx.

Geist isn't really that aggro-y though. Being able to swing on T4 as a minimum isn't like high speed.

But Little Zoo plays Geist. It's actually really good.

Because nothing trumps a wild nacatl... Except a wilder nacatl.
Sorry. I'm tired and have no answers. Seems like a good addition to me. But I've never played zoo. So I guess my opinion doesn't go any further than "looks good on paper"

I actually have no idea. I'm rather surprised that zoo doesn't run it, considering that what I've seen from zoo decks is small and/or speedy creatures to overrun their opponent. Goblin Guide seems to do this perfectly at the beginning of the game.
Test it and let me know how it goes.

It's better to play a Steppe Lynx and call it a day. Like GlistenerAgent said, the drawback actually matters.

steppe lynx has the potential to do 8 damage by the end of t3 which is super nice.

Head on Over to the Valuetown Zoo is Naya zoo deck I built to playtest with, and have found Goblin Guide to be as good a turn 1 drop as Wild Nacatl.
