Need a substitute for a vintage card

Alright, so it's as the title says. I have this idea for a pretty fun casual deck, and right now, most of it is modern. However, there is one card, that is VERY important to how it's played that is keeping it in Vintage. I'd like to get out of vintage if possible. Is there a version of Ashnod's Altar in either Green or Black that allows you to gain mana through sacrificing? I mean, i could take it out and do a very lengthy workaround, but i'd rather not. Also, the color of mana it produced would not matter. It'd all be going to colorless creatures anyways.
Yea, pretty much i'd like to have every bit of my combo out before turn 4, so Thermopod wouldn't really work. Well that sucks, I'm pretty much usin the Altar to sac Kitchen Finks into Eldrazi's with Melira, Sylvok Outcast

Basal Sliver makes slivers do that. Hivestone turns everything into slivers...

Nope, as i stated earlier, trying to use Kitchen Finks persist combined with Melira, Sylvok Outcast . Ashnod's Altar is the best way i've found so far.

For Modern, I can't think of any either, all six of them I can think of our legacy/vintage xD

Yea i've heard of Birthing Pod before, honestly the deck i'm mentally working on started from a deck like that i was working on. But i thought it'd be fun to do something different as i'm trying to keep this somewhat cheap ((Hence mostly the cheaper eldrazi's till i can trade my way up to one of the legendaries)) and the problem with Pawn of Ulamog is it's hard for him to be re-used unlike Kitchen Finks

if you want to go legacy Food Chain will work for what you want. if you want it all modern as far as i know there is no such card

Go with Phyrexian Altar ... Food Chain exiles, which is not what he wants. He's reoccuring Kitchen Finks with melira. He needs it to 'die', not exile.

well just saying, the combo your working on is one of the main combos in Pod. They don't repeatedly sac into Eldrazi. It uses Viscera Seer to sac Kitchen Finks (Infinite Life) with Melira, Sylvok Outcast on the board. Same setup, but if u sac Murderous Redcap instead it's infinite damage.

gufymike Honestly, i think i'd go with Ashnod's Altar , yea i won't get as much Life gain or the like, but it's much more cheaper on the wallet. The only reason i'm running it into Eldrazi's is i already have the cards.
APPLE01DOJ Yea, i kinda wanna use my Eldrazi's though, i'm tired of them just being a pretty little card in a binder.

showda either or work, you just asked for another card that isn't Ashnod's Altar
:)

Well more i was asking for a Modern replacement, the card you mentioned was also Vintage. Everything i'm gonna run in this deck is Modern, with the exception of the Altar, which is super important.

If you want to use your eldrazi and use them in modern, you might want to consider going the tron route. The Urza lands, Eye of Ugin and so on, surround it with the color you want to use. If you're trying to combo out for mana, that is the least efficient way to use the melira/finks combo. It's better to scry or pod into the redcap and just win, if your opponent doesn't concede to the infinite life combo. Plus post board, the hate is strong for that combo, in terms of Torpor Orb , Leyline of the Void etc...

Ehhh you're right. This is just a casual deck, so i wanted to do something flashy and different, and none of my friends run the normal ETB counters, so i guess i saw it as an opportunity to have some fun.

Pawn of Ulamog works (as said some comments above) if you have Viscera Seer or some sac outlet. Sac Kitchen Finks get the token. Repeat 15 times. Sac 15 tokens, drop Emrakul. But the combo now needs 4 cards.

As far as I can tell, there aren't any cards in modern that have "Sacrifice a creature: Add (mana) to your mana pool in black or green. There is a red card, Thermopod , that does it, but it's in red and it costs a hefty amount of mana.
