Negative Lifegain Combo vs Ad Nauseam

I'm well aware of the power of Ad Nauseam decks in modern, but I recently stumbled across some articles by Travis Woo about a Negative Life Gain Combo deck that is similar to Ad Nauseam but instead the plan is to get out a huge Death's Shadow and Fling it for the win.

I'm wondering if there's an possibility with Woo's idea? I'm thinking Ad Nauseam is strictly better in every way, but I'm really hoping people tell me otherwise because the Negative Life Gain seems really fun to play.

They are both powerful, but Ad Nauseam decks are a little more consistent overall. You can certainly play the other deck though and have success with it, but it won't be tier 1

No, he's just a 13/13 if you're negative

he does get +x/+x if you have negative life but are not dead.

Look at the ruling on gatherer,he does get a buff if you're neg.
