Opt: Scry 1, then Draw. Instant. U.
Opt just got a confirmation in Ixalan. This obviously will be huge for Grixis and UW, I think. But to what extent?
My three main thoughts are:
1) Will this replace Serum Visions somewhat?
2) Will this help bring blue back up a little bit to the glory it had a few years ago?
3) What cards, if any, are with investing in right now under the assumption Opt will be great?

I don't think it will replace Serum Visions, but will definitely compliment it in Control, for sure. I'll be trying two in Blue Moon, see where I go from there.
In my opinion (I say decent opinion, I've been playing control since I've started Magic, and UR Control of some sort in Modern for about 2 years now), Visions is really important when you need something, such as land. It's great at almost any point, and is helpful to set you up. Helps get you lands, removal spells, and threats. Better when you have some time. I don't see getting rid of it. I absolutely will not be getting rid of it. I think Opt will definitely compliment it though, as a good card to use at any point.
I'm sure it will give blue a boost, just not sure to what extent.
I think this also improves URx Delver strategies (I know I will be testing in over Sleight of Hand in my UR Delver deck), but I'm not sure by how much. Helps to some extent.
Take this all with a grain of salt, it's just my humble opinion!

Serum Visions digging 3 cards deep makes it better in many cases, but I think Opt will replace Sleight of Hand in many other decks looking to cantrip while holding up countermagic.

I think that decks heavy on fetchlands will prefer Opt, since it dodges the Serum-fetch nonbo. Overall, this is a very nice addition to the card pool, and I expect it to see a bunch of play.

It's huge for Storm since it's much better than Sleight of Hand, especially for the fetchless versions. Glad I have a bunch! Definitely save yours from Ixalan drafts too!

I'm inclined to agree with those saying it won't replace Serum Visions, but will see play alongside it for the right decks. I think Grixis is about the only deck where I'd swap out Serum Visions for Opt. But Storm? Delver? I'm playing both. In Storm, I'm likely even playing Sleight of Hand right beside both.
I think as far as investments go, buy up copies of Opt. It's going to see a bunch of play in Modern.
I'm also leaning towards making investments into pieces of Delver and Faeries. Opt being an instant is going to help those decks out immensely. Furthermore, there's that dumb new "Draw 2 cards, then discard a card unless you attacked this turn" sorcery for that's getting printed. We may see a resurgence in tempo decks due to that combined with Opt.
I still think we're missing some key cards to make blue as strong as it was during the Splinter Twin era. There needs to either be a consistent win condition (such as if they unbanned Splinter Twin) or we need some kind of powerhouse removal, like Misdirection or Daze brought into Modern.

Opt is interesting because on the draw in control it allows you to hold up Spell Snare or have some filtering, which gives them a bit more flexibility and turn usage.
It's definitely good in UR delver and blur based control strategies. I'm not sure if it replaces anything in Grixis Delver since Serum Visions is very important. However Opt is just a good card and a much needed reprint.

Opt is great, imho wizards reprinted it because it helps control a lot more than it helps combo.
Opt is great if you want to keep up mana for counter, want to Snapcaster Mage at the end step... etc.
When it comes to grixis delver, the question is "What problems can arise from tapping out on T1, and not having instant speed interaction?"
I would say that its worth to tap out, there is not much to be interacted with on T1, and sculpting the hand is worth a LOT.
Since most of its cards are so lean costed, in later turns that single blue can be paid.

I expect to see a lot of naysayers claiming that Opt isn't modern playable, but regardless, I'm investing in Opt, that's what I'm investing in. I used to run it over Preordain because instant speed is fantastic for control.
If Serum Visions taught me anything it's that WotC will go 10 years without printing this again and I can sell them for $15 a piece. lol
