Goyf is nuts now. Even more so than before. Swinging T3 as a 7/8 Hell yea!

lol with the addition of Bitterblossom (which pumps goyf twice) anybody else fear they will ban goyf next?

Tarmogoyf is still Tarmogoyf , and in any format where you have such an overpowering force, you're going to see the appropriate hate cards. Relic of Progenitus , Leyline of the Void , and Scavenging Ooze are just a few of the graveyard hate cards that hurt good ole goyf. Deathrite Shaman was one of the best hate cards for goyf, but him leaving doesn't mean there isn't good hate for Tarmogoyf .

Um no. lol Goyf is never going to be banned. It's still a vanilla green creauture that dies to almost all removal.

I think if they ban goyf they would lose a lot of players. people would be BS if they invested say..600$ in a playset, then it got banned. Plus as DrFunk27 said, gofy is basically a nilla bean beat stick.

DrFunk27 they banned Storm Crow in all formats even though it's just a French Vanilla creature, so the possibility that they ban Tarmogoyf is very real.

Considering Tarmogoyf has been played since it's intro in Futuresight and it has not been banned yet, I do not believe there is any truth behind banning it. If anything, Snapcaster Mage will be banned before Tarmogoyf.

Tarmogoyf isn't expensive or famous because it's naturally overpowered, it's expensive and famous because it is playable in half of modern and a quarter of legacy's archetypes. As a vanilla beater it does exactly what it needs to. If Tarmogoyf was banned, I would hate modern. There would be no challenge to it. Control decks would likely dominate.
