Puresteel Paladin does he hold his own?

So when I played heavily with Puresteel Paladin he was in Extended... and frankly it doesn't really seem like modern has a TON to offer him? So what do you all feel about him and do people thing he is still competitive? I am talking strictly mono white/artifact decks. Most of the "powerful equipment" seems to have been released around him so that is why I ask, and it doesn't seem like to much of the deck would change.

Yeah that would make sense but I want to actually use him for moving around equipment. It just seems like there is 1001 ways to remove him on t1-3 when it is important to have him out...

Not at all true, my puresteel deck kicks arse, and cost me 50 quid, it destroys most decks ive played against. We all play casual down at my shop. So much arse doth it kicked, that now people sigh when they realise im playing it.

In casual anything is possible, your deck could work or your opp's just suck at deck building.
I tried to break PP back in t2 when he came out and it sucked, sucked every way to sunday.I tried a TS shell using blades and other equips, it was crap, PP is a shitty version of stoneforge, I would rather run Steelshaper's Gift than pp.
And Im not trolling your just getting butthurt just like that other kid that removed his deck after I told him hes got 1000$ to much into a deck thats no better than a 200$ t2 deck..

What?
We play casually as in for fun, not for format, but my deck is legacy legal. I play against whatever my opponent has, i don't bitch and forfeit just because he has a card from 1990.

People who spend 1000's of bucks on decks are fools, i agree, what does that have to do with puresteel paladin, did you think we were talking about black lotus?

Wow that was a fun talk I got to come back to. I simply wanted to make a deck I already have most cards for and spend under $75 for the rest. I know it cant only have puresteel in it but to move the equipment around but he sure does make putting Argentum Armor a whole lot easier on creatures. Thanks KOOL KIDS!

Schuesseled try 1993,thats when the game was invented, your arguments are now invalid.

I found my copy of this card, and I'm thinking of an EDH with Kemba, Kha Regent as Commander.

Sidneyious I wasn't arguing, i was teaching. Is it the teacher's fault that the student didn't learn? Perhaps, but also go away.

seeing as how they banned Seething Song in modern and not Grapeshot , a puresteel paladin storm deck is still viable and can win on turn 2. to me that still sounds competitive enough, although i havent seen or been able to come up with any other kind of strategy using pp that is anywhere near as competitive.

His best use in Modern is probably for 0 CMC equipment, and Storm.
Cast, draw, cast, draw, cast draw... use Retract... cast, draw, cast, draw, cast draw...
eventually... discard a couple Simian Spirit Guide, and cast Grapeshot.
