Is Raven's Crime good? I've been on the fence about it for a long time. I've heard from people who like it and people who don't. Is it a good idea to put into a discard deck?

Raven's Crime
has it's niche. Unless you have a way to abuse it (ie Life from the Loam
) it's not as good as targeted hand disruption like Thoughtseize
, Inquisition of Kozilek
and even Duress
. It can serve it's purpose though.

It's basically a Gift's Control/Aggro Loam niche card because it's abusable in those shells.
Basically what MindAblaze! said.

OK. So in just a grix discard, it wouldn't be as good as Duress or another targeted discard spell, right?

Well it can be quite good for mid-late game, as you can use dead land draws to recast it over and over and again.

The only problem Infral is that unless you're playing against a slow deck, a competitive Modern game won't last past turn 5 or 6.

True on that part, but at least having the card available can do a huge difference, but it's obviously not the card you start out with when making your opponent discard, but it still does the job to get rid of the last few cards in their hand.

I had Raven's Crime slaughter my Kor Legions deck hundred times over. I could not do anything against it unless I brought out Leyline of Sanctity pre-game.

I saw someone playing this card tonight, but didn't get the whole idea of it. He had something on the field that made a person lose life whenever discarding, and it was a slaughter.

Also sorry if this should be in a different category, I wasn't sure where to put it.
