So, Entering Modern with U-Tron

Can someone point me to a good U-Tron list <100$? It seems like a nice deck to enter the Modern format with.
If you can't find a U-Tron, what are some other good <100 decks to use to enter it with?
It's going to be hard to find any strong, competitive Modern deck for less than $100. Even burn nowadays will cost $150+ and U-Tron, while one of the budget friendlier decks will still take you to $250 due to the cards that you must play to win.

I've had good luck with my list I orginally was on Burn, then built Weird Storm (still have that built. I Enjoy playing MonoU Tron though Modern U Tron.
One of the reason I like Mono U tron you can tweak it here and there to suite your preferred play style. While not completely customizable you can play a fairly standard build like myself and ducttapedeckbox, or you could build something like Protect The Queen where you focus on more counter spells and protecting Platinum Angel. You can run a gifts package like I do or not, there is a fair amount of options when considering this deck.

Under 100 dollars is a pretty tall order for modern, best of luck to you.

Much Budget: Quite Blue, Very Tron
For whatever reason, Tappedout lists all urza pieces at like $3-5, but you can get them on TCGPlayer right now for 50 cents each. This is also cutting some of the expensive pieces that you don't really need like Ugin and the mindslaver combo. With correct pricing, this deck is at like $80.

I just read the less than $100 line xD, meant to edit my other post, but was too slow. MTGoldfish YouTube channel has a couple of budget deck tech videos that come out to under $100, the decks I would say are good enough for FNM level play.Your best option imo would be Restore Balance ~$50 and UW Tempered Steel ~$80, I would lean more towards the Tempered steel list considering it sets you up with a base to build into Affinity with. There is also the Blistering Rage ~60. there are some lists on here I found, but they're not the same as the MTGoldfish articles. Hopefully I don't get in trouble for posting these here

It's only appropriate that we link Ohthenoises' Budgeted UTron List. It's a very solid list.
I think the Mindslaver combo is a very important part of the deck, and worth the $15 (10 for Academy Ruins, 5 for 'Slaver).

I agree while I feel you could build a list without Mindslaver it wouldn't feel the same, while something like ThatJunkMage Much Budget: Quite Blue, Very Tron might work it could be awkward I would replace Logic Knot with Spell Burst, and put the slaver combo in there. I like Springboard Into Modern Budget U Tron you can cut Oboro, Palace in the Clouds and Tectonic Edge for Ghost Quarter and an Island that cuts about $16, I don't know what other cuts I would make. I'm quite happy with my current build I posted above, but that's not even close to the budget range you're looking for.

Personally, I think with that kind of budget, you are better off with a rogue archetype. Players usually have some kind of plan against Tron decks, and those plans will be all the more effective against a watered-down budget version. So a rogue deck really gives you an element of surprise and in my opinion, will be more fun to play. I think the Kiln Fiend deck listed above is pretty good. If you want to play something Tron-like, you might think about this: Budget Bunny Suit. Just my two cents.

While what formayor said is mostly true, UTron is one of the more flexible decks when it comes to watering it down. You have a basic control shell with some beaters, where most of the pieces will run you less than a few dollars.
Your land base can start off as Tron plus Islands and a Ghost Quarter or two (and ideally Academy Ruins). Your creatures can be flexible too - Sundering Titan is about $5, Platinum Angel is about $7, Solemn Simulacrum is about $4, and the rest gets as expensive as you want. The counter magic is very cheap.
I'm not discouraging you from using a rogue deck as that can be very rewarding. I wanted to affirm that watering down UTron is not like replacing Tarmogoyf with Lhurgoyf (not implying that formayor said that, just using an example).

Fair enough. Budget U-Tron is probably better than most attempts at budget versions of popular decks, as you don't have to compromise the land base, and can still run many of the key pieces.

Mines pretty generic. Can remove Ugin and some of the fancier lands.
Control & Conquer: Mono-Blue Tron
OhTheNoises is the man to talk to when it comes to UTron. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions.
