I saw a lot of good modern matches. a lot of different types of decks griselbrand turbo, bricks twin, four color control, tramo twin, and temur aggro, So many different things going on. tomorrow morning is the top 8. Is there anyone you guys favor? Do you guys know who's making it to the top tables? Is there anything at all you guys would like to discuss with me

I think theres some GR tron decks in the top 8 i want them to win because I play and enjoy it lol but yeah there was a lot of variety which was great but scg needs to take sub mode off its horrible

Yeah I was hearing bout those GR tron decks I didn't really get to see it play cause the first game was over by the time I tuned in and the second game the guy got the griselbrand combo. Then the third round I was busy but before I watch it play tomorrow could u possibly give me a break down of the deck? And what r the benefits of those colors?

What's a sub mode?

It wasn't that bad IMO. But there was a match where I was like wth he never got it to work... What techs r u using in yours that make it different and more consistent then the one u saw

Yeah so I didnt really see the deck in the tournament but mine and more common ones play the tron lands which are Urza's Mine Urza's Tower and Urza's Power Plant and the whole point is to get all three on teh field to get a bunch of mana to cast board wipes like All Is Dust or Oblivion Stone and then finish with threats like Wurmcoil Engine Karn Liberated Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre and to retrieve them from your deck with Eye of Ugin. There is the GR one and the mono blue one and then a weird esper Gifts Ungiven one I have no idea how that one works....anyway the GR one is considered the most consistent because it plays things like Ancient Stirrings and Sylvan Scrying to search for the lands (lands count as colorless cards for ancient stirrings) the red allows for Pyroclasm in the mainboard to deal with aggro decks like affinity and for alot of the sideboard cards. Thats mainly the benefits of the GR one is just really consistent land searching because it also plays Expedition Map and cyclers like Chromatic Sphere and Chromatic Star. The mono blue one plays things like Treasure Mage to get wurmcoil and sometimes Trinket Mage to get expedition map but overall just controls the board with counterspells until it can get the lands on the field and eventually get Wurmcoil Engine or Karn Liberated. And finally sub mode is subscriber mode in twitch if you pay 5 dollars a month you get "special benefits" in channels and in some channels like the current scg channel you can only talk in the chat if you are a subscriber which sucks because no one wants to pay 5 dollars to just talk to people....yeaahhh...let me know if you have any questions about tron sorry for the bad punctuation and stuff I am pretty tired.

Actually that was a pretty good description of the deck. And I really like those two cards u talked bout All Is Dust Oblivion Stone seem like good little board wipes. I think I saw emmerkul get some play time but very briefly just a grave ability on the stack and it got removed by something else anyways. The deck does seem good. But I was wondering if there was some kind of control version of the deck.

Not trying to shamelessly advertise, but EmblemMan hit the description of Tron on the head for sure, but in the description of my Tron deck I break down how it fares in the meta and what you can do with the sideboard.

@ Khanye I definately wish your Grislecannon had been there I love it. I've seen others similar to yours as well, sometimes featuring Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, other times not.

We have some really gifted and/or special people on tappedout.net when it comes to deck making.

Link to deck lists if available would be helpful.

What is temur aggro, specifically. That could refer to multiple things.

What is bricks twin? Guessing grixis typed wrong?

June 7, 2015 4:14 a.m.

Khanye says... #14

temur aggro was basically temur delver i think, not sure why it was called temur aggro.

June 7, 2015 4:32 a.m.

ChiefBell says... #15

Right. Delver then.

Oh oh my god Khanye, ChiefBell look out the deck natzi's are gonna come and correct you so hard. Flee while you can!

Because like, deck labels exist so that we can all be on the same page when we talk about things? If you start using other labels it's confusing and not helpful. This is literally the very reason big archetypes have names and even the very reason that language itself exists - so that we can communicate ideas effectively. If you start misusing or swapping labels then no one knows what's going on and it defeats the point.

Also you misspelt nazi ;)

Khanye says... #18

Part of me wants grisel cannon to win it all, but then that list is so bad I can't stand if it wins the whole thing. Not to mention, if it wins I will be labeled a net decker :/

June 7, 2015 5:03 a.m.

kengiczar says... #19

Sorry about that I haven't ever used the word Nazi sarcastically before. I'm going to put that one back on the shelf.

So now I'm curious if it was a Temur Aggro or Temur Delver deck because a Temur aggro deck is more likely to mainboard 3-4 Scavenging Oozes while a Temur Delver deck is more likely to main 4 Young Pyromancers. I've seen both versions being called by different names which gets really confusing when all you see is Snapcaster Mage and Tarmogoyf.

I don't mind one being called the other but I have learned the hard way that there are many people on tappedout.net that are adamant about a deck being called what it is. I brought up the whole "flee while you can" thing to jokingly let you know that somebody may come in and raise a fuss, not to make a mockery of the naming conventions we give decks.

Is there live coverage of this event? Or is it already over? Someone help pls thx

June 7, 2015 11:29 a.m.

@vishnarg If the conversation is about the scg worcester tournament you can find coverage for the event on star city games youtube channel. The top 8 deck lists are also up on mtg top 8 to look at.

June 7, 2015 11:38 a.m.

It's live right now on twitch tv if u wanna check it out I just saw Abadan company versus that gr tron deck and I have to say dude sylvan scrying together with that other look at the top five cards grab one card. Is a pretty badass reason to run G in tron. The deck seems pretty powerful and can produce some pretty badass threats.

Thank you both. Let's go Tron!

June 7, 2015 11:48 a.m.

I saw this thread last night, and was going to pose the same question as chief, but thought against it, because it felt like I would be attacking the OP :3

June 7, 2015 4:33 p.m.

Did anyone catch the last game?

I started to, but GR tron was up 2-0 against amulet bloom and looked to have it locked up so I stopped watching

June 7, 2015 7:48 p.m.

Yeah that tron deck was a beast all tourney long man
