So what if Wizards fell on its head?

What would happen if Wizards fell on its head one morning and unbanned every single banned card in Modern? What would be the archetypes, best decks, etc... Looking at the list, I get the feeling that Storm and its variants would be the top decks by a lot, but at the same time, Affinity, Jund, Tron/12-Post, and Control get a lot of old toys back. For reference, here's the list:
Also, please note that this is purely theoretical, so kindly keep it civil and constructive, not just "this is a terrible idea". Thank you.
Brainstorm was never printed in modern. Nice try.
Overall, gotta say some kind of f*cked-up t1 win storm. That sh*t would be nuts.
EDIT: Wow just realize Tapped Out added a censor. I'm gonna have to get more creative with my profanity.

Hypergenesis would be (at least, at first) the clear best deck.

D'oh, well then maybe not. Ponder isn't really a good replacement for Brainstorm.
Tell me more about this T1 storm. I'm assuming it uses Rite of Flame?
Personally, I think a Dragonstorm revival w/ Seething Song would be dope.

well T1 storm and elfball with Glimpse of Nature and Skullclamp and my favorite, affinity with artifact lands and clamp.

Affinity, Storm, Elfball, Delver, Jund, Eggs, Stoneblade, Countertop and 12-post seem like the decks that would emerge based on the ban-list. Not to mention Control and Burn would go absolutely nuts with power.
electromancer: Wizards always bans cards that give overly-fast mana, like Rite of Flame, Seething Song and Chrome Mox. T1 win would be difficult, but possible with a Rite of Flame, a Manamorphose and a Pyretic Ritual or just another Rite of Flame. T2 wins would probably be common though.
GlistenerAgent: What? Why? Because Karakas isn't legal to keep Emrakul in check? Wraths can kill it though, and there are many ways to keep the pseudo-Eureka in check. It certainly isn't un-bannable as of right now, but it also is definitely not one of the strongest cards on that list.

Leyline of the Void would see mainboard play like everywhere.

Scorprix No-ban Modern is a format of busted decks. Hypergenesis is the most explosive deck. Hat said, people will know that and have interaction. It's a bit like Belcher in that way.
After Hypergenesis, I think I'd play Stoneblade of some kind (maybe CounterTop as well) or Stoneforge Affinity.

I'll remind people that no one is suspending Hypergenesis, they are cascading into it (frequently on turn 2).

All I know is I'd be all over Dread Return and Second Sunrise. Oh boy.
And we'd probably see a lot of turn 2 Marit Lages.

Can Wizard please do this? It'd become one hell of a time period in modern. Either way, I already have storm, just need to add a few cards to have a fun time. And I do think that it would be similar to how modern has changed, or even how legacy is. It will have busted combo decks, but there still would be a lot of diversity. Yes, while it will have faster wins than what Wizards want Modern to be, we would all get used to the power at some point, and then it wouldn't seem like a terrible idea. It should balance out. Should.

Haha why on earth would they ever do this lol, I can't believe you're serious. Now what would be cool, however, would be if SCG or someone announced now that at their next GP they would be hosting exclusively this one time format. Imagine what people would come up with for a totally new format pool! The winner would definitely be the best one to foresee how the new meta would shape out, and what deck to play based on that.

If this happened, the format would be legacy without the cards that regulate legacy.

Blazing Shoal infect would be pretty good. also elves would be a much better deck once it gets Deathrite Shaman, Glimpse of Nature, and Green Sun's Zenith.

It's crazy how many new decks this would enable though. They want a diverse format, they really just mean a slower format. This version would be diverse, just cutthroat. Like it had already been said, without the tools to regulate power it would be ridiculous.

I think that Punishing Jund would be widely played with the addition of Bloodbraid Elf,Punishing Fire and Deathrite Shaman.
Also, control would be good, but would caw blade be a big thing today?

What do you think about twin? Would it still be played or would it simply be out-classed by all the combo and midrange? I feel it would still be good, it would just have to MB some Counterfluxes...

Maybe if Brainstorm and Force of Will were reprinted, and added into this format, then we'd get the power check we'd need. It would make control an option, add more consistency to the more midrangy decks, and then you'd get a meta close to legacy. But it'd be balanced like legacy is. Although, we'd get Treasure Cruise.. Hmm.

And I feel like twin would be way outclassed. It'd end up being too slow for the format.
October 10, 2015 9:43 a.m.
Only t1 and t2 combo decks would be good without FoW to keep the format in check. Also mental misstep would be a 4 of in every deck.
October 10, 2015 9:56 a.m.
Twin would never make it. Storm would be twice as strong of a combo deck than Twin could be.

I will remind everyone that this did happen. I think with the relevant unbannings of cantrips and maybe jace twin could be quite strong. Also affinity would be totally busted with the artifact lands and skullclamp.

selesvyaloverer8 I think that twin deck might have only been possible due to insane legacy counterspell and FoW. Turn 4 might a little slow for busted modern. I agree about affinity though, that deck would be insanely fast. I'm thinking some type of turn-2-win burn hybrid would do the trick with the quick ramp, and abundance of artifact fuel for Galvanic Blast and Shrapnel Blast.

I think the legacy people would have better idea than us. There's a U/W Miracles deck in legacy that uses mostly modern banned cards:
Brainstorm
Jace, the Mind Sculptor
Sensei's Divining Top
