Will Sphinx's Revelation have a place in Modern when it rotates out next year? U/W control is one of my favorites but I'm a bit hesitant to throw it into a Modern deck

Are there better draw options in modern?
Yes then No
No then Yes

Go here and run a search in the modern format for Sphinx's Revelation . I think you'll find a ton of decks that use it.

Will it be the Godsend that it is now? Probably not. Should you outright dismiss it? No.

@Ohthenoises Yeah there are a ton of them on there, but it's mostly UWR, and @capriom85 that is exactly the reason I'm hesitant to run it

UWR runs it and the rare UW Tron lists that still float around use it to staggering effect. RG Tron is more consistent and more powerful than UW though, so really the only mainstream deck using it is UWR.

So the consensus is that Sphinx's Revelation will still see play in Modern, that's what I like to hear : D

Yes, Sphinx's Revelation already sees play in Modern. Mainly RWU, but I once saw a UW Tron deck draw half of what was left of his deck and gain something like 20 life with a rev too. That was interesting.

Well, his opponent scooped after he drew 20 cards and gained 20 life.

Usually U Tron takes a small splash in black for Dismember sideboarded. UW has been dying out, not too sure why, I actually liked the lists. and then RG Tron is, well, RG Tron...
I know I'm going to take heat for this but in modern there are really only two "control" decks that see tournament play (barring the rogues) and that's U tron and U/W/R control. If you want to run sphinx rev American control is the place to start, and with Theros' Chained to the Rocks it's stronger than ever IMHO.

I lost a match at FNM due to Chained to the Rocks . I wasn't even playing against control, my opponent was rocking a Naya Sliver Aggro, now that's what you call a successful siding.
Biggest threat in my deck, boom gone.

Chained to the Rocks is basically a Standard-legal Path to Exile , love it!

I am not a huge Modern player, but I don't think so. I am pretty sure its far too high of a cost to make a dent in a Modern game.
