Strategy tips for mono U Tron vs. RG Tron

Sorry for the amount of questions in the last couple of days. I've been running a U Tron build recently, and while I'm good on most of my matchup tech, I can't seem to find a strategy that will even give me a running chance against my bigger RG brother. Any tips? The rest of the interwebs has been of little help.

I'm curious as to why your matchup is bad against RG Tron, seems like one of your better matchups, but still mostly just about who gets the Tron up and running first I guess.

What specific problems have you faced?

The inevitability of RG Tron is harsh. None of my beaters are of practical use, RG is the only deck running bigger ones than me. Leaving only mindslaver lock as a functional wincon, and Karn makes that difficult if I don't draw into a pithing needle post board. Just an overall pain in the backside. Plus, emerakul comes out pretty fast, my countermagic is useless there, best I can do is Repeal him and die one turn slower because I lack the 15 squirrel tokens required to kill him on a block :p

Mindbreak Trap is reasonable against Storm, and counters Emrakul if you can stop their early threats.

This works only on thing that are on the stack correct?

That is correct. You exile Emrakul when he is a spell, and that doesn't count as countering him.

That is magnificent. If I start running into big brother often enough, It would make a reasonable sideboard card. I don't see storm too often, but it is one of the worst possible Tron matchups, so it's definately relevant. Thanks for the input!

I honestly don't know which deck is better. I've always run RG. It seems like with the loss of Dig and Cruise, combo will be less prevelant, meaning RG tron will be stronger, in theory...

Repeal doesn't hit Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, right? Protection from colored spells? He can't be targeted?

Also worth noting is that even if you Mindbreak Trap Emrakul, they still get to take an extra turn to cast 2 Wurmcoil Engines or what have you... I wonder if some land disruption like Ghost Quarter or Spreading Seas or whatever might be more effective than trying to remove/counter Emrakul.

No, I didn't get destroyed by RG Tron last FNM! :P

I know this is an old post, but wouldn't Syncopate be better than Mindbreak Trap in U-Tron because of the double blue Trap requires?

trap is for storm in particular

Gotcha. Side note, I just played against GR Tron, and got destroyed. There just aren't many cards that can deal with a Karn Liberated in U-Tron. I think I'm going to add Pithing Needle to the sideboard.
